The Rough Country Dana 30 Front 4.88 Gears Ring and Pinion Kit changes all this by optimizing your engine and drivetrain setup via its higher gear ratio. This optimization results in greater off-road capabilities for your ’07 to ’18 Wrangler such as when rock crawling.
Re-Gearing Your Jeep’s Performance. The biggest benefit of re-gearing is this you’re able to regain some of the power and torque that’s lost from switching over to larger tires. Larger tires throw your stock gear ratio out of kilter, resulting in a slower-turning driveshaft. This less than optimal driveshaft performance results in the aforementioned loss of power and torque, as well as decreased fuel efficiency. Upgrading to a higher gear ratio brings back drivetrain performance to stock levels.

The Rough Country Dana 30 Front 4.88 Gears Ring and Pinion Kit will require a number of specialized tools for proper installation, like a bearing press, a bearing puller, a dial indicator, and precision calipers. You’ll also need to have exceptional mechanical knowledge and skills, as well as several hours to spare. Consequently, an installation by a professional is highly recommended.
