Justin: If you're running a big and heavy aftermarket wheel and tire combo and spare on your '21 and newer Bronco, and you wanna take some of the stress off of your factory tailgate hinges, well, then adding Rough Country's tailgate reinforcement mount here would be a great way to do so. Now, the mount itself from Rough Country will utilize heavy-duty CNC cut steel, and when installed, will evenly distribute the weight of your spare across both hinges, along with the spare tire mount itself. Now, price point for the bracket or the mount here will be just north of that $100 mark. And the install at least according to the site will get a solid one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter, take about an hour or so to complete from start to finish as we'll demonstrate later in the video. So right off the bat, this is gonna be a nice little peace of mind modification to help prevent any accelerated wear and tear on your factory tailgate hinges, especially if you're running a big old 3-ply sidewall tire 35 or 37. Now, I'm sure most of you guys are aware of the fact that a burly 37 mounted and balanced on a wheel can easily weigh over 100 pounds, and, eventually, that might take its toll on your factory hinges. Now to help ease the load on the factory hinges, Rough Country came up with this steel mount or reinforcement that is gonna live between the tailgate and the spare tire mount and will triangulate the mount in those hinges evenly distributing the weight. Now, for those wondering, the reinforcement can be used with both stock spare tire carriers or even aftermarket spare tire carrier options. And Rough Country says, again, this thing will support up to a 37-inch tire without issue. Now the kit is made from a durable and really burly steel build. I mean, this thing is super thick, guys. And it has been given a very cool look, thanks to a little bit of this kind of CNC cut detail here, which is gonna frame your Bronco logo perfectly, which is gonna live kind of right in this ballpark. And then, of course, the icing on the cake will be the Rough Country logo down below as sort of the cherry on top, if you will. Now, protecting that steel construction is gonna be the textured black powder coat. And altogether, the mount is backed by Rough Country's limited lifetime warranty. Now the kit does include brand new hardware for the hinge side, along with the tire carrier side, and is a 100% bolt-on job that does not require any modification whatsoever. Speaking of which, now we wanna give you a better idea of just how things will come together on your 6th-gen at home. So, without further ado, check out our detailed walkthrough and tool breakdown now.Man: Tools for this install: an electric ratchet or ratchet, a 19-millimeter socket for our aftermarket lug nuts, a 13-millimeter socket, a T47 Torx bit, an 8-millimeter Allen key or bit, an impact, and a trim removal tool. First step would be to get your spare off of your tire carrier. Open up your tailgate and remove the plastic cover using a trim panel tool. With your plastic cover removed, unplug your brake light and camera light harness. And push the wire grommet through the front of your tailgate. And fish your wiring harness through your tailgate. Grabbing your 13-millimeter socket, remove the eight bolts around your tire carrier. Now, before we remove our tailgate hinge bolts, we're gonna take our trim removal tool and wedge it between the body and the tailgate, that way there's no movement when you remove the bolts from those hinges. Now take your T47 Torx bit and remove the bolts in your tailgate. And we will not be reusing our factory hardware as the kit provides new hardware. Now that we have our hinge bolts removed, it is time to get our bracket placed onto our Bronco. We're gonna first start by feeding our hinge bolts through our bracket, as well as a spacer. Take your bolt and your spacer on the backside, and we're gonna do that for the remaining three holes. Now it is best to start these one at a time, that way you have some wiggle room. Hand-thread to get everything started. And once everything is in place, we'll come back and tighten everything down. Now with your hinge bolts hand-threaded through, it is time to place our tire carrier onto our bracket. Also using the kit-provided hardware, it is going to be a bolt and a flat washer. Again, just hand-thread for now so we can come back and make adjustments if we need to. And now, feed your harness back through your tailgate. Grab your 13-millimeter socket once again, and we can tighten our tire carrier bolts. Now take your 8-millimeter Allen bit or key and tighten down your hinge bolts. With your tailgate bolts secured, open up your tailgate, and replug in your brake light harness, as well as your camera harness. And we can replace our cover. And now you can place your spare tire back onto your carrier. But for us, that's gonna wrap it up for our review and install of the Rough Country tailgate reinforcement mount fitting your '21 and newer Bronco.
