Hey, guys. It's Sara with extremeterrain.com, and today we have a review and install of the Deep Woods Grille in Matte Black, fitting your '07 to '18 Jeep Wrangler JK. This is perfect for the Jeep owner that's looking for a direct-fit grille replacement with aggressive matte black style that retains their factory fog lights. This replacement grille features an angular design that is unrestricted, allowing airflow access to your radiator and engine bay. And it features a high-quality ABS plastic construction with a matte black finish that you can leave as is or paint to match your Jeep. This kit includes new pop clips as well as metal clips for ease of install. It also includes weatherstripping for a nice tight seal from your grille to your hood, and special cutouts for your fog lights to just pop right in. So, as far as price goes, this grille comes in at around $150 which is on the lower end price-wise when compared to other options. And for your money, you are getting a full grille replacement that features a direct-fit install. Now, whether this style speaks to you or not, it is certainly a quality piece that features a simple install and is still budget-friendly. And as far as the installation goes I'm giving this one a very easy one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. It does feature a direct bolt-up installation with no modification required that can be done within two hours. So, with that said, let's check out the install. For this install, you will need a pop clip removal tool and a trim panel removal tool but a flathead screwdriver will work in a pinch. All right, so the first step in our install, we're gonna grab a pop clip removal tool or you can use a flathead screwdriver if you don't have one of these. We're gonna remove all the pop clips holding on the top of our grille. So, if you are gonna use a flathead screwdriver, just be careful that you don't damage these as you're pulling them out. Go ahead and remove the rest of your pop clips. Next up what you're gonna do is grab the grille and pull straight back towards you to release the plastic clips. Now we have to unplug each fog light one on each side. This side may be a little hard to see because the clip is upside down but pull back on the red tab, press down and remove it. Repeat that on the other side, and remove your grille. All right, now that we have our factory grille uninstalled from our Jeep, we can check it out side by side with our new grille here. Now, as you can see, design-wise they're very different from one another. Our new grille is a far cry from the traditional Jeep grille, it features a more angular design. In addition, it features ABS construction with a matte black finish. And although it is different design-wise, it still allows you to keep your factory fog lights. So, with that said, let's finish up the install. And before we can get our grille installed, we do have to do a bit of prep work. I'm gonna start by installing these clips all around these bottom tabs. And this just goes on similar to the factory grille. You can press them all into place, and don't forget the one on each side for the fog light housing. All right, so now I have the factory grille here and what we're going to do is pop out these fog lights so we can install them in our new grille. And you'll see a tab right in the middle here. I'm just gonna press that in. And then repeat that for the other one and they will slide right out. And repeat that on the other side. Now, we're doing this with a plastic trim panel removal tool. You can use this or if you're careful you can use a flathead screwdriver as well. All right, so at this point, you're gonna line up your fog light and install it the same way you uninstalled them out of the factory grille. Go ahead and line up both tabs and press them into place. Now, I did wanna point out make sure you have the proper one on the proper side, the bulb connector should be facing out towards the edge of your grille. They are also labeled RH and LH for right hand and left hand, it's another good way to make sure you have the proper one. Same thing as the other side, line up the tabs and press into place. All right, now we can install the grille. I'm just gonna rest it in place right there for a second while we install the fog light connectors. Let's go ahead and press into place and press down the red tab. Repeat that for the other side. Now, what we're gonna do is line up all of the tabs and clips that we installed earlier, and press the grille into place. Now we can install the pop clips, they've included new ones, so that's nice, especially if you damage your old ones. So, we're going to be installing these new guys. Go ahead and line them up and press them into place. Repeat that for the rest of your clips. And finally, we're going to install this weatherstripping. We're gonna peel back the protective on the double-sided adhesive. Make sure your surface is both clean and dry. Now, this goes pretty much the length of your grille but you definitely wanna measure it out beforehand, then go ahead and stick it down. Now we're sticking as we go and peeling back the double-sided adhesive. So, we only have a bit exposed at a time so it doesn't stick to itself or anything else. All right, so that is gonna do it for the review and install this grille. And remember for all things JK, keep it at extremeterrain.com.
