Hey, guys. Today, I'm here with the Duratrek 5-Inch Bent End Oval Side Step Bars, fitting all 2005 and up Double Cab Toyota Tacomas. So, if you're looking for something that's stylish as well as very functional to fill up that wheel-to-well space, then this option by Duratrek is gonna be a good one to take a look at. So these side step bars are going to have a large 5-inch stepping surface for very easy accessibility getting in and out of your truck, especially if it's lifted. And they're gonna have a large non-slip step pad with some extra ridges in it for some extra traction on those wetter days. Now, these are also going to double as some light side protection made of a heavy-duty stainless steel material, protecting the side of your truck from any liter obstacles on the trail or even just doordings while you're in the parking lot. Not only are the steps gonna provide a lot of functionality to the side of your truck, but they're also going to add a lot of sleek styling with the gloss black finish that will protect that stainless steel underneath, but also give you that extra aesthetic that you may be looking for, as well as the bent ends that are gonna contour with the body of the truck very nicely. With all that being said that these are gonna be pretty affordable at roughly $250, and I personally think that fits very well within the price point with all of the functionality as well as the sleek styling that these steps give off. Now, these are gonna be more simplistically styled in comparison to some of the other more expensive option on the page. And that's why you're really gonna see that price drop down. Now, if we take a look at some more expensive choices, you'll usually see that they are gonna have a more in-depth design, like a drop step or even a heavy-duty material, that's gonna focus more on protection as to where this is going to be focused more on accessibility as well as that lighter protection. So, in my personal opinion, I think if you're looking for something that's gonna get the job done, but also gonna be set at a very affordable price, then this option by Duratrek is gonna be right up your alley. So, install's gonna be quite easy at a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. You're gonna need a couple of basic hand tools and not a lot of time to get these things installed. So speaking of the install, let's jump into that now.Tools that I used for my install were an impact wrench, trim removal tool, and a 13-millimeter deep socket. So our first step is gonna be to install our brackets and you are gonna have a front center and a rear bracket for both the driver and the passenger side. And they are gonna be side-specific, so I'll recommend to have those staged before we head underneath the Tacoma as well as your hardware for the brackets which is gonna be the bolt, lock washer, and flat washer. Now that we're underneath the Tacoma, you're gonna see that in the front, the center, and the rear, you're gonna have two plugs that are in the threaded holes that are in the body of your Tacoma. And that's where we have to mount our bracket. So I'm gonna take a trim removal tool and just pop out these plugs. These are just here to protect those threads. Then, once those are out, we'll expose the threads and we can install our bracket. So I'm going to start with our driver center. It is labeled on the bracket, "DC," and so on. For the other brackets, I'm gonna take our bolt, flat washer, and lock washer and start threading that into the body. Now, you don't wanna tighten these down just yet. We wanna get everything in place because these will be able to move back and forth and have a little bit of adjustability. We wanna get the step on to make sure it's sitting correctly and then we can tighten everything down at the end.Right, so now that they're snug by hand, we can do the same thing for the front and the rear bracket. So now, we can lay our step on top. Now, these are gonna be side-specific, but they are labeled within the package. You just have to lay that on top of our brackets and it should stay there and then we can head underneath and secure it down to our brackets. So we can take our hardware with the captured lock washer and captured flat washer and thread that into the bottom of our side step. Then we can repeat that for the other two brackets. So these will be able to move around. That's gonna make it easy for us, since we didn't tighten them down all the way. And then once these bolts are in our side step, we can go ahead and tighten them. So now that all of our bolts are threaded in, we can start to tighten them up. I'm gonna use a 13-millimeter socket and my impact wrench to do so. And we can repeat that for the other two brackets. So after you have this side tightened up, then you can repeat that process on the other side.So that's gonna wrap it up for my review and install. Make sure you like and subscribe.
