Hey guys, so today we're checking out the Raxiom LED headlights fitting all 2007 to 2018 JK Wranglers. So, if you're in search of an upgrade in lighting as far as performance and styling goes for the front end of your Wrangler, this option by Raxiom is going to be a great choice to take a look into and an affordable one at that. So, these headlights are going to have a split design, which I personally really like. I think it adds a lot of style to the Jeep and makes it really unique. You're gonna have a low beam up at the top and then you're gonna have your high beam down at the bottom. So, in the name it says LED and that's exactly what you're getting out of this. You're actually getting 12 LEDs in the headlight, and that's gonna be perfect if you're tired of that factory halogen bulb and you're looking to upgrade and get some better lighting performance and better visibility while you're driving at night as well as a more uniform light pattern. Not to mention I do really like the styling again, you're getting a chrome reflector which gives it more of a classic feel, but it is definitely an upgrade from that factory housing as far as styling goes. These are also going to have a tough construction to make sure that they're holding up on the trail and making sure that no branch or no brush is going to damage them in the meantime, which is perfect for you guys who are going off-roading with your Wrangler.With all that being said these are gonna be set at roughly $300 and I personally think that that is a good price point for what you're getting out of the box. First of all, you're getting a very stylish light, I again do really like that chrome reflector that gives a more classic look, but you're also getting more of an upgraded feel in comparison to that factory halogen housing. And on top of that, you're getting a ton of lighting and lighting performance out of these headlights. Not to mention you're getting a plug and play design. Not only are you getting a high-quality light, but you're getting a very easy install so you really have a no-fuss design when it comes to these Raxiom headlights.Now, in comparison to some other options on the page, it really comes down to two categories, you have the styling of the headlight, as well as the technology or the lighting technology that's actually in the headlight. Now, with these, you're getting a bright LED and you're also getting some unique styling in comparison to some other choices that might have some extra bells and whistles like a halo or a daytime running light, or multiple LEDs that are going to cost a little bit more. Now, in my personal opinion, I think if you're not really concerned about that, you're looking for something unique, you're looking for something that's going to perform well while you're driving at night, especially while you're driving out on the trail, then this option by Raxiom is gonna be a great choice to look into.Now, install again is going to be a no-fuss design. It is going to be a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter with some very basic hand tools, no splicing, completely plug and play and it's probably going to take you about an hour to get the job done. So, speaking of that install let's jump into that now. The tools you'll need for this install are a Phillips head screwdriver, a trim removal tool, and T15 Torx bit.First step of our install is to pop our hood and then to take off our grille so we can access our headlights. Now, with the trim removal tool or a flathead screwdriver, what we're gonna do is pop off these six clips that are holding in the top of our grille. Before we tug on our grille, we do need to disconnect our turn signal wiring harness and that is going to be on the back of the bottom of the grille. From the back of your grille here, you wanna make sure that you disconnect your turn signal, you just have to press down on that tab and pull back. There is a red locking tab that you might have to slide back before you do that, and then we're gonna do the same thing on the other side so we can remove our grille. What we can do now is just grab the grille and give it a good tug to release it from the retainers.Now that the grille is removed we'll have access to the headlight bucket. Now, there are four screws that are holding on the trim that is actually holding in our headlight here. Now, I'm gonna take a Phillips head screwdriver to remove those screws. However, you may need a T15 Torx socket if you have the factory hardware. So, once the screws are removed we'll be able to remove the headlight as well as the trim here, we can push this red locking tab back and unlock that, press down on the tab and pull back on the connector. And that will release the headlight, then we can install our new one.So, what we can do next is grab our new Raxiom headlight, we can take our factory trim and place that over our headlight, this is what's gonna hold it in place. Now, the seam down here, that is going to go down at the bottom. Everything should line up, it should seat on the back of that headlight right there. Then we can take our anti-flicker harness, this is also going to be an adapter harness, gonna have an H4 and an H13 connector. We're gonna take the H4 side and plug that into the back of the headlight. We can take the H13 connector and plug that into our factory harness. You'll hear a click, we can set down that red locking tab, put this and tuck this back into place. So, we can reposition our trim to make sure that it is sitting correctly on our headlight bucket. Can take our factory screws and secure those back in the place.Before we continue to install our new lights, I did wanna stop down and tell you guys a little bit more about this new Raxiom LED headlight in comparison to our factory setup. Now, starting off with the construction, you can tell that the new Raxiom light is kind of like an updated version of your factory light. You're still getting the chrome reflector, you're still getting the clear lens, but what you're getting is some aggressive styling as well as LED technology over the factory halogen light. Speaking of that light in the lighting performance, the Raxiom lighting is going to be incredibly bright, helping you out with visibility at night, especially on dark backroads in comparison to the halogen bulb. Now, that halogen filament is also going to be a lot warmer in color temperature, it's gonna be a lot lower on the Kelvin scale. So, you are getting a yellowish hue from that and when moving over to the Raxiom one you're getting a bright white light and that's going to be a lot higher on the Kelvin scale. So, it is going to clean up the look and it's gonna give a more modernized feel to the front end of your Wrangler especially if you're looking to match it with any other LEDs that you already have on your Jeep or you're looking to put on your Wrangler.The Raxiom headlights are going to have a very tough exterior as well and they are going to be IP67 rated so you can ensure that there's no dust or water going to get inside the lens and harm those LEDs which is very important especially if you do take your Jeep off-road. I really like this styling, it does switch it up from the factory even though we are seeing that chrome reflector. But you are getting some more aggressive styling and again, it's going to match with really any other LED that you put on your Wrangler. Not to mention they also are DOT and SAE approved and they come with everything they need in order to install them. You are gonna get a wiring harness adapter with an anti-flicker built into that, this will have an H4 connector on the back but it does convert it to an H13 to adapt to the JK wiring harness, makes it very easy and a plug and play system. So, let's go ahead and install our second light.So, we're gonna repeat that process on the other side. So, after you're done installing your headlight, I would recommend that you check the connection, make sure that the headlight is working. I would also check where the headlights are aiming, you can point your Jeep at a wall or a garage door and make sure that they are straight on or pointed in your preferred spot. Now if you do need to adjust them there is an adjuster screw on the side here. You will need a T15 Torx socket or Torx bit in order to adjust the headlight up and down. But once they are pointed in the right direction, what we can do is pop our grille back on. We can put our grille back into place, give it a good push, make sure it's sitting in all the clips. Once the grille is in place, we can take our retainer clip for the top and press those into place. We're gonna go ahead and plug our turn signals back in, making sure that they click. What we can do next is just close up our hood then we'll be all set to go.So, that's gonna wrap it up for my review and install.
