    Review & Installation Video

I'm Ryan from ExtremeTerrain.com and this is my review of the Raxiom Backup Camera Spare Tire Mount Bracket, fitting all 2007 to 2016 JKs. This bracket is for any of you who have the Raxiom navigation system with backup camera or the Raxiom backup camera kit and are looking for a clean and easy way to install that camera without the need to drill anything. Or if you have any other 3/4 inch backup camera and you're just looking for the cleanest, easiest way to install it without the need to drill anything. And something that gives you a really good viewing angle. So, if you're looking for that type of installation and you have the budget for it, I highly recommend taking a look at this bracket. This bracket is made of steel and it's covered in a black powder-coat finish that's going to do a great job of resisting both rust and corrosion. There honestly isn't too much to this bracket, but it does solve a problem. Anytime you're installing a backup camera, the standard way to do that is to drill a hole, and there are a lot of different places to mount the camera but they all require drilling. If you would rather have a really clean install without the need to drill, this is a nice option. It mounts your camera behind the spare tire and does it without the need to drill a hole, giving you a great vantage point. A couple of the other options for mounting your camera would be to drill a hole in the bumper or in a plastic hitch plug. The problem with those locations is if you put it in the hitch plug, every time you use the hitch you have to remove the plug, thereby removing your camera, or if you put it in the bumper you have a really low vantage point. This gives you a nice, high vantage point which gives you the perfect viewing angle for a backup camera and again, it does it all without the need to drill. As long as you have a factory style spare tire mount, with two studs at the top and one at the bottom, this will work perfectly. Installing the bracket could not be any easier. All you need to do is remove your spare tire, put your bracket on your spare tire mount, again this goes over the top two studs of your factory style spare tire mount. Install your camera, route your wiring, and put your tire back on. The whole process shouldn't take more than 10 minutes to install the bracket, but that doesn't count installing the camera and routing all the wiring. And you won't need any specialty tools, just something to remove your lug nuts to get your spare tire off. Right off the bat, when you take a look at the price for this bracket, it might seem to be a little bit high. And when you pick the bracket up and hold it in your hands, it's not overbuilt. Then again, it doesn't need to be. All it's doing is holding your camera. So, when you take a look at the price tag, initially it might seem a little bit high. But when you consider the alternative to this, which is drilling a hole in your Jeep to match the camera, and the fact that there aren't a lot of other options for brackets out there like this at any price point, all of a sudden, in my opinion, it becomes worth the money. So, whether you're installing the Raxiom navigation system with backup camera, the Raxiom backup camera system, or any other 3/4 inch backup camera and you're looking for a solution to mount that camera without the need to drill into your Jeep, and something that will give you the best possible vantage point, this is a really nice option if you have the budget for it. So that's my review of the Raxiom Backup Camera Spare Tire Mount Bracket fitting all 2007 to 2016 JKs that you can find right here at ExtremeTerrain.com.

Clear Visibility. Designed to provide a central camera mounting point without the hassle of drilling, the Raxiom Spare Tire Backup Camera Mount Bracket will give you the perfect angle of visibility when backing up.  This mount is made to work with Raxiom's bullet camera included in the Raxiom Navigation Unit kit (sold separately), and centers your camera within your JK's spare tire for a wide central view when in reverse.

Durable Construction. This mount bracket is crafted from precision cut steel for durability. To protect against corrosion and the elements it is finished off in black powder coat and will blend in seamlessly with your factory spare tire mount. This bracket installs in moments without modification to your Wrangler and is designed for use with the factory spare tire mount and factory wheels. This mount features Raxiom's 2-Year Full Warranty.

Application. The Raxiom Spare Tire Backup Camera Mount Bracket is designed for use on 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK models equipped with a factory spare tire set up.

    • Raxiom Spare Tire Backup Camera Mount Bracket is specifically designed to be used with the camera that comes included in the Raxiom OE-Style Navigation, item J101300. It may work with other bullet style backup camera's however, we have not confirmed this. https://www.extremeterrain.com/raxiom-gps-navigation-jk-j101300.html

Works well, but overpriced for what it is!

Bracket works as advertised, although buying some retaining clips is a good idea, since nothing secures it in place when the spare tire is off. For what it is, it should cost half as much. But seems as they are the only ones that sell this bh itself.

      Great

The quality product was great was able to use with the backup camera from my after market radio. I gave four starts only because i wish there was a better way to secure the bracket down before the spare on i feel if i ever have to take my spare off the camera bracket slides and would have to be re adjusted still happy that i didnt have to buy a different camer but its a solid bracket and perfect angles.

      Good product

The Mounting bracket fits perfectly in the original tire holder. I have a bracket for a larger tire so I had to enlarge the center bottom of the bracket. recommend for the factory tire mount

      Good, but not great

The bracket works fine and it is of high quality. However, due to my larger wheels, the camera picture is partially blocked by the wheel spokes since it is set back a bit. Further, I had to purchase clips to secure the bracket to the spare tire bolts, which I wish came with the bracket for the money.

      Great Addition

This is a great item to speed uno the install of your back-up camera without having to drill any holes in the body of your Jeep. It's a breeze to install. The only drawback is that it should come with retaining clips that go over the lug bolts to hold the unit in place. Right now, the unit is held in place when the spare is bolted back on the tire carrier, but if you ever have to remove the spare, the camera and mount will simply fall off.

      Perfect!

This mount is perfect to mount the camera for the Raxicom navigation. Lines up well would highly suggest it with purchase of nav with backup camera. Avoids you drilling into the bumper. Easy installation.

      Works like it shoud

I purchased an inexpensive camera off Amazon for $10 cause I was not sure if I really needed a backup camera. Ended up having to buy a mounting bracket, but it fit perfectly and was easy to install. Seemed a bit more than I wanted to spend so knocked off one star for that, but works great.

      Good features little thin

If you get the correct camera this will work well. I used the Boss camera and it fit perfectly. The first couple of camera's I tried did not fit. The metal could be a little thicker to stop the camera from vibrating at times. The install should go fairly smoothly as long as you don't have a tire adapter for bigger tires. Had to take off the adapter and put the mount behind that. This made for a bit of complications in getting it adjusted but it wasn't too bad.

      Good location

Great easy to install camera mount. However, camera itself does not just snap in due to the black powder coat finish. Lots of grinding was needed in order to make it fit properly.

The bracket is solid and the installation is a breeze. Camera pops right in and is tight. The fact that it is allows you to adjust the height of the camera is great for aftermarket wheels. Love it

      Great bracket for Back-up camera

This is a great alternative to some of the more expensive back-up cameras for the Jeep Wrangler JK. This fits the stock tire carrier and I am using stock 18 inch Sahara Rims. Rather than use the bullet camera, I grabbed one off Amazon for $12 and it fits perfectly. My one critique is that I wish the cylinder was just a tad shorter. Functionally, it's fine, but IMHO, it sticks out just ever so slightly too far. Would I buy again... definitely.

      Eh

It is built out of really cheap material and from what others have said it will rust soon after install. I painted mine before installing. For $50 I think it is way over priced. For $25 I would give it 5 stars.

      Great Mount

A little expensive for what it is, but great mount for a backup camera setup. Using it with a Uxcell 1/4 inch Backup Camera from Amazon ($10) and it's the perfect match! I've used it with both the spare wheel mounted and with a spare delete plate. Solid construction, nicely powder coated and NO issues so far!

      Excellent Fit, Easy Installation

I couldn't be happier with the fit and quality of the camera mount. It was super easy to install and accommodates a standard ccd weatherproof camera (as found on Amazon). The hardest part of the installation was getting the spare off. I would highly recommend!!

      Much improved view!

I've had my Raxiom backup camera for a while now, I originally had it mounted in the stock rear bumper but recently went to a steel bumper. Having the bracket on the spare mount gives you a much better perspective and opens up the view range of the camera considerably. I wish I had bought this months ago!

Easy way to mount your back-up camera

Used this bracket to install a back-up camera on my JKU. It works great and holds an off the shelf IR camera without any modifications. Strongly suggest you do not fully mount the camera until you verify that it is mounted correctly as removing it after the fact will be difficult.
