How to Install Pro Comp ES3000 Series Suspension Rear Shock for 0-2 in. Lift on your Wrangler

Installation Time

30 minutes

PLEASE READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS FROM START TO FINISH BEFORE YOU BEGIN INSTALLATION.

To properly install replacement coil kit the following part numbers are needed.


NOTE: Pro Comp also suggests replacing steering stabilizer with part #219200.

NOTE: Installation of pinion angle cam kit #20-65225 maybe required to adjust rear pinion angle.

Front Disassembly:
1) Block rear tires and raise front of vehicle with floor jack or other suitable means.
2) Support chassis with jack stands behind front lower control arm mounts.
3) Remove wheels, spring retaining clips, front shocks, and sway bar end links.
4) Lower front axle and remove coils.

Front Assembly:
1) Install new coils part #55297 shocks, coil retaining clips, sway bar end links and tires.
2) Lower vehicle to ground.

Rear Disassembly:
1) Block front tires and raise rear of vehicle. Support chassis with jack stands in front of rear control arm mounts.
2) Remove tires.
3) Remove shocks and lower rear axle.
4) Remove rear coils.

Rear Assembly:
1) Install new rear coils part #55298 and raise axle.
2) Install rear shocks (NOTE: Crosspins included in part #55298 are for the rear upper shock mount when using Pro Comp shocks).
3) Install tires and lower to ground.
4) Check all hardware for tightness.
5) Have vehicle aligned.
