How to Install Poison Spyder DIY Rico Step Kit on your Wrangler

VERY IMPORTANT: Installation should only be performed by an experienced fabricator or certified welder. If you are not confident in your fabrication or welding skills, see your local fabrication or welding shop to install the components in the kit. 

The DIY Rico Step Kit is designed to be welded to the factory Jeep JK Rubicon rocker rails to provide a rub rail and entry step. Note that this is a “builder’s kit”, in which you are provided with the necessary components but measurements and exact placement of the components are to be determined by the installer. 

CAUTION: Adding the Rico Step to your factory rocker rails will place increased leverage on the rocker rail’s mounting mechanism. Under hard trail use, the step may tend to push the rocker rail up into the lower body panel. For this reason we recommend either installing Poison Spyder’s Rocker Knockers INSTEAD of this kit, or in conjunction with this kit, installing Poison Spyder’s JK Body Armor. By installing the DIY Rico Step Kit you acknowledge your understanding that under tough trail conditions your Jeep may be subject to body damage from the rocker rail contacting the lower part of the body sheet metal.
