For Tough Stuff. Boulders that would smash or peel a stock 1997-2018 Wrangler differential cover slide harmlessly off the massive nodular iron shell of the Poison Spyder Dana 44 Bombshell Black Diff Cover, enabling bolder, successful rock crawling even on a bone stock Jeep. Cast with the distinctive Poison Spyder emblem directly in the surface, this cover is anything but a decorative piece, with an average 7/16" thickness and immensely thick 1" edges that resist any kind of peeling. The Bombshell's ramp profile makes it ride smoothly over even the most jagged stones, rather than catching on them to be caved in or torn away.

Made for Trails. Tough as nails, the thickness of the Poison Spyder Dana 44 Bombshell varies from 7/16" to 1/2", with a 1 inch thick edge. The nodular iron flexes rather than crushing or breaking under heavy impacts, increasing survivability. A tough semi-gloss black powder-coat protects the piece from rust. The fill hole is now located at stock level for easy oil filling with zero guesswork. The cover comes with a limited 1 year warranty from the maker.

Easy Installation. The Poison Spyder Bombshell Diff Cover is made for a flush fit to the underside of your Jeep, requiring no gasket, but only the included tube of silicone sealant, to achieve a positive seal. Bolt-on and quick to install, it comes with all needed hardware and instructions.

Application. The Poison Spyder Dana 44 Bombshell Black Diff Cover is made for application to all 1997-2018 Jeep TJ and JK Wranglers outfitted with a Dana 44 axle.

            Very happy

Bought this to upgrade the rear differential cover on my daughter's 2014 JK. It's very solid and fits like a glove, especially at the bottom of the differential, which I hope should prevent peeling. Instead of the black silicone it came with, I opted for a Lube Locker. While factory torque specs are 30 ft-lbs for the bolts, after seeing a lot of online references to snapped bolt heads when using Lube Lockers, and after reading a bunch of posts on different Jeep forums, I actually opted for a lower torque value of 22 ft-lbs with a little Threadlocker blue and have had no leaks or problems.

            Very solid diff cover

On a trail run, I peeled the lowest point of the original cover. I wanted a cover that would not be peeled a second time. The original cover weighed 3 3/4 pounds. This one weighs 8 3/4 pounds. For twice the money there is a diff cover advertised to be 12 pounds. This cover comes with black RTV; I used a LubeLocker gasket.

Solid Diff cover. Fits perfectly. I would definitely recommend this product for others.

            Love it

Cool add on and you can customize it to match your Jeep. Heavy duty also! I added the Lube Locker instead of the seal that comes with the bombshell. Would by again and going to get on for the front.

            Dana 44 Bombshell

I really like the back powder coat and that you can customize it to your taste. The problem I had are the bolts. I snapped off two bolts at just over 25lbs of torque. The only reason I rated this a 4 instead of a 5 is because of the bolts.

Seems like a great fit for rear Dana 44. Next is front diff. Only issue I had was you Do need 3 hands to put the cover on and start the bolt. Plus I am still a little confused as after I started to refill the diff, the fluid started coming out after less then 2 quarts. All the Jeep forums said the PS diff requires about 2.5 quarts. Answer is still out on this one.

The stock covers are a little over 3 pounds. These are 8 pounds 13 ounces!! Super beefy. The powder coat on there is totally worth it!!! Just great all around!!! Paired it with a lube locker gasket and my leaks are gone!

            Awesome protection

Installed on the front axle and didn't have any clearance issues with the Mammoth adjustable track bar or any other component. I like that the fill hole is at factory height and all the bolts are recessed. The RTV it came with seemed too small for the job, so I used some Permatex instead. Installation was very straight-forward; No issues with anything. This thing is solid as can be and seems a functional slider as well. There is no 'edge' to peel back.

Installation is easy and straightforward but the bolts are not good. As I was torquing the bolts to only 25 pound, one of the bolt snapped, gladly I was able to pull it out without any major hustle. I recommend to go to ACE and get real grade 8 bolts for this installation

            Excellent product

Easy install and looks great on my Jeep. The new design had no interference with any components. I am running 2.5 lift currently with HD Track Bar, stock D-link, and tie-rod. Only thing i might do different next fluid change is use Gasket, had to wait 3-4 hours for RTV to dry enough.

            Dana 44 Bombshell cover

Great product. Straight forward switch. Seems to be fairly stronger and more heavy duty than the stock cover that I peeled back and looks great too. Would definitely recommend

            Great product

Super sturdy and easy to install. The 44 has just enough gasket, so if you aren’t careful you may need a little extra. Can’t go wrong with Poison Spyder!

            Bomb proof differential covers!

These are exactly as stated "bombproof" super heavy duty and the casting has no protrusions to get hung up on rocks or stumps. Powder coating is well done! I highlighted the spider in red... looks bad A$$.

            Solid Cover

This is good insurance as I already tried to peel back the stock cover while wheeling. The cast cover comes with everything you need in the box. The bottom is flush with the bottom of the differential housing and not susceptible to getting hooked on rocks. I did not have any interference with the rear track bar (1" lift in the rear).

Took about an hour to install. Plus the time after waiting for the seal to set to refill with gear oil. Well made cover that I'm sure will have no issues on the trail.

Great Diff Cover for the $$$

This a one beefy diff cover! The install was easy and we knocked it out in less than an hour. We used silver model paint and a few coats of clear polyurethane to make the Poison Spyder really stand out! I rock crawl regularly here in Utah, and I have total confidence in this cover to protect me on the trail!
