        5 2001 Wrangler - Nulter

it's an Alternator that works. that is my intent. 160 A runs my stuff we'll see how long it lasts. My Mean Green lasted 5 years 200A. constant loading so this will be interesting. PA Performance gave a Good price through Ext terrain and shipped quickly from Pennsylvania. A TJ alternator can be installed by a blind one eyed Monkey with the shakes. very ezpz. Tanks!

        5 2003 Wrangler - KurtM

I needed more power after I upgraded to an electric cooling fan. This alternator definitely did the trick. It's plenty of power to handle all of my upgraded audio and increased amp draw from my cooling fan. I know I will not have any power problems in the future. Excellent product!

      3 Top Rated Questions

Can this be used on a stock 99 2.5l Wrangler tj? If not can I get a link to one with 160a that will?

      • I apologize, we do not have a 160 AMP for the 99 2.5 liter. I have a link here for a 117 AMP that will work on the 99-02 2.5L.

Where and how do I get the upgraded wire and other necessary items for installation?

      • For ideal recommendation for your build I would recommend contact PA Performance for an upgraded wiring kit.

My current setup for the stock alternator has a fusible ling in the 6awg cable. This says to replace that with a larger cable and a 175amp fuse. I understand the larger cable, but I would need to use a fuse rather than another fusible link? I'm guessing fusible links don't work well with the higher amp devices?

      • When installing the PA Performance Alternator, you should upgrade to a 4awg cable, or larger. The fuse will need to be able to handle 175A. Typically fusible links are not available to handle amperage this high, and will typically be unavailable in wire diameters this large. Additionally, installing a fuse will make replacement easier if a short occurs and pops the fuse, or damages the fusible link.
