Description
Replacement Upper Idler Pulley. The drive belt on your Jeep that turns the alternator, and many other components relies on a variety of pulleys to keep it moving straight and to maintain its tension. These pulleys go bad over time, and you can use this Jeep Wrangler upper idler pulley to replace one of the worn pulleys and restore alignment to your belt. This part offers OEM Fitment and is simple to install.
Single Ball Bearing Pulley. This upper idler pulley is a single pulley that mounts to help the drive belt track where it needs to go effectively. It’s designed with grooves that match the underside of the drive belt to help it maintain its alignment.
Steel and Plastic. This pulley is formed from a blend of steel, plastic, and a set of bearings. It’s designed for years of performance and should maintain a smooth alignment even when quickly turning, thanks to its materials and design.
Easy Install Process. This pulley can be replaced in around 30 minutes by an experienced mechanic. It’s a simple part to replace when you have access to a belt puller tool. Tension must be removed from the belt to unbolt the old part and bolt in the new pulley.
Application. This upper idler pulley is meant for 1997-2002 Jeep Wrangler TJ vehicles with a 2.5L engine. It can also be used on 1997-1999 Jeep Wrangler TJ vehicles with a 4.0L engine.
