Does this lever attach to the actuator with the yellow vacuum line? This 1997 Wrangler does not have A/C

        • This is attached to that actuator by a steel arm in order to control the HVAC air flow/blend door.

Ive broken the little tab that you hook the actuators to. Ive would like to know if the door lever will slide out so i can replace it. Ive tried pulling on it to get it out. Im afraid im gonna break something else.

        • The blend door lever can be removed but may be stiff after years of swelling and contracting from temperature changes. We recommend using a lubricant like WD40 or a silicone spray lubricant to ease removal. We also recommend ensuring no hardware is holding the lever in place, as we have seen these repaired before with a screw which can add outward pressure, making removal difficult.

Posting from manufacturing and other sights indicates that this fits only 97-01. If it doesn’t fit will you cover return cost?

        • This product would only have fitment for the 97-01 TJ, if the item does not fit the shown vehicle we would provide a prepaid shipping label to return the item.

            Worked Perfectly!

Embarrassed to say I owned my Jeep over 10 years before discovering this product. This will be the first winter that I haven't had to drop some object (tree saw blade or small carpenter's square) down the defroster vent to keep the door open. Other fixed are over $100, but this one can be done easily without removing the dash and heater box. Thanks!

This particular part number wasn't the fit according to schematics, however, after pulling the original part this was the exact fit part that resolved my problem. It works as intended and Bob was a tremendous help.

Good quality, they work. Only had them in a week but they seem to be of OEM quality.

            Perfect fit and function

I needed to replace the lever that opens the defrost door on my TJ. I found two options on the website but could not determine from the description which one would fit, so I ordered both. My Jeep does not have A/C, but discovered that the lever marked for the lower A/C panel (part number 17910-01) was the correct part. The lever fits perfectly and now I have defrost!

            Sorta new

Products are fine. Just needed experience. Upper door lever and lower door levers seem to be miss packaged for proper applications. Upper is actually lower and lower is actually upper. But managed to get job done!!

            Great product, but wrong label

Needed to repair my defrost vent. It was clear after climbing in the driver foot well that the lever was broken. I was tipped off by a listserve that this product would fit the upper defrost door. Sure enough, this was a perfect fit. After using a 2in decking screw to pullout the broken piece inside the door, I held the broken lever right next to this lever, and they were the same part. Had the door opening in 30 mins, NO dash removal required!!
