Nitro Gear’s 4.56 gears have a higher numerical gear ratio than your Wrangler’s factory-installed ones. This, in turn, helps your Wrangler achieve better performance by getting those large tires in place. These shorter gears compensate for the larger tires’ rolling diameter to recover lost acceleration and drivability.

      Re-Gearing To Regain Efficiency. When you increase the rolling diameter of your tires, you also push the engines to work twice as hard to move them. This results in more fuel consumption and a decrease in performance. To solve this, you need to re-gear to match your new tires and recover lost performance – the exact thing this kit by Nitro is made for.

      Technical Note. Please note that JK Gears are thicker than traditional Dana 44 gears. JKs may only fit 3.73 & lower Dana 44 carriers. Aside from that, JK Gears also have double-drilled ring gear bolts and ring gear bolt holes on carriers may need to be drilled larger.
