With reverse rotation gears like the Nitro Gear & Axle Dana 30 Ring Gear and Pinion Kit, the pinion is set at a higher point in the ring gear. This provides you with a better ground clearance and a more gradual driveshaft angle. Combined with a 4.88 gear ratio, you’re ready to lift your Jeep and sport bigger tires for a better off-roading experience.
Tougher Built Gears. Engineers designed the Nitro Gear & Axle Ring Gear and Pinion Kit to be better than factory equivalents. These forged triple alloy steel gears are heat-treated for added strength. The gears are refined using state-of-the-art CNC-machining to achieve the optimal clearances and backlash for a noise-free and wear-resistant rotation.
Computer Tuning Needed. Take note that speedometer readings will be thrown off with any change in gear ratio. After installing the gears, update your onboard computer using a tuner or a recalibrating device.
Professional Assembly Only. The assembly and disassembly of your differential is not such an easy job, especially without the right equipment. Technical Note. Jeep Wranglers with 4x4s need to have identical or close to identical front and rear gear ratios. Using your 4WD with mismatched gear ratios may result in serious damages to your drivetrain components.
