        I currently have 4.10 gearing right now and would like to upgrade. Do I need to upgrade anything else or is it just a simple swap of the ring and pinion? I. Trying to see if I need to buy a locker, carrier etc. I bought this jeep used so I'm not sure what is currently underneath the diff cover, I only know the gear ratio from a serial number I looked up

        • If you already have 4.10 gears, then you should already have the upgraded carrier, so you should be good to go with that! Generally, you only have to upgrade a carrier if you have 3.21 or lower gears. Hope this helps!

        2001 jeep wrangler sahara 4.0 manual now on 33" maybe in the future 35. I have rear d44 and 30 front stock 373 already have front and rear detroit lokers, With this setup still fit this gears? Just install? Thanks.

        • You would want to confirm your locker's "breaks" to confirm what size gears they accept, if they follow the factory carrier break style you may need to replace your rear locker to install 4.56s.

        New to gears, I have d30 front and d44 rear, I see this kit seems to be the master install kit with gears. When doing the swap is there anything extra I need to replace or change? I currently don’t have lockers in front or rear. Want to make sure I don’t need to change anything extra aside from what’s in the kit.

        • As long as your current lockers can handle a 4.56 gear you'll be good to go once buying this complete gear and pinion kit. A lot of stock carriers are unable to handle a gear ratio this size, it is best to double check if you aren't sure.

        Are ring and pinion sets specific to RHD/LHD?

        • Ring and Pinion gears are not going to be right hand left hand drive specific.

        I am trying to determine what is in this kit. The photo shows a ring an pinion plus what looks like a master install kit for a front and rear, but the description reads that only a ring and pinion are in the box. What is the deal, and, assuming a master install kit is included are the bearings timken/koyo/national or what? Also, I have a stock 3.73 front d30 (open) and a 3.73 LSD d44 rear, do I need thik gears/different carrier/drilled out bolts to swap to 4.56? Thanks.

        • This would be a complete front and rear kit for the gear swap. These would be Timken bearings included in the kit. For the D30 with 3.73 gears, the 4.56 will be a direct swap. For the D44 you will need a new carrier or aftermarket locker to accommodate a 3.92 or higher ring and pinion.
