Specs. M.O.R.E.'s Black Hide-a-Step is a folding, removable step that gives you an 11-inch lower step up when you have big aftermarket tires and a lift kit installed. This sturdy, heavy-duty step lets you step up into a raised Wrangler with much less strain and effort, and it's stylish, too.

Construction. Mountain Off-Road Enterprises' Hide-a-Step is made out of thick, tough steel to provide a reliable step up, and folds when not in use. Pulling 2 pins permits the step to be removed entirely. This step lowers the step up by 11 inches. It is made in the USA.

Installation. No drilling is needed for front door installation, though it is needed for rear door mounting. This product is finished with black, powder-coated paint and class IV zinc plating for extreme rust-proofing.

Warranty. This step is covered by a limited lifetime warranty.

Application. The M.O.R.E. Black Hide-a-Step fits 1987-1995 YJ Wranglers.

5 2014 Rubicon - RonD Installation Time: Less than 1 Hour

        Sleek Durable Step

Installed these steps on a 2014 Rubicon with factory rub rails, installed well with supplied items and hardware. These are low profile, and function as expected

        Step with rubicon rock rail

I really love the step now that I have it on, it did take a little bit of messing around with my rock rail, when I finally read a review that suggested removing the rock rail in order to slide in the step. This is what I did and made a world of a difference. Still the whole install was about an hour, but trying to figure out how to manage the spring without the clamp was tricky in the small space. I really love the black coating to go with my dark gray Willy's

        4 2017 Rubicon - AutoDoc1 Installation Time: Less than 1 Hour

        It works very nice

Installation went well decided to remove the rock rail to slip in place then to bend the bracket down like it shows in the instructions.

        M,O,R,E, Hide-A-Step Install

Piece a cake or pain? Turned out it was somewhere in the middle. Until I figured out a way to hold the bracket at a 90 degree angle, it was a pain. I used two woodworking clamps, with plastic pads, to get the bracket to 90 degrees, then wire (17-18 gauge) to hold it in that position, took off the clamps, then followed the instructions that came with the hide-a-step. It took several attempts with the clamps, they kept slipping off the pins. Once installed, I'm happy with the step and how it looks - it's hard to see, which I like. Haven't taken my Rubicon off road yet, so I haven't tested the step's ability to be taken off by removing the two pins. Works great, so far.

5 2015 Wrangler - Nataqua Installation Time: Less than 1 Hour

        Excellent Product!

When going off road my 2015 JKUs step style nerf bars kept getting caught up in the rocks, so I removed them. Even though my Jeep doesn't have much lift, I need a step because I regularly ferry my 82 year old other around, so a sturdy and functional step is a must have item. This step is the perfect solution and being more utilitarian than appearance oriented, it doesn't look as awkward as I thought it might. The step is sturdy and feels secure, it is also positioned in just the right place for the front passenger's entry into the vehicle. And the added bonus is the ability to quickly remove the step for off road adventures! I hesitated to invest in this step because the price seemed a bit steep (s all good Jeep parts are!) but given the quality of the build and the obvious engineering involved I now see it as a good value. If the price were perhaps 30 less I might swing for another for the driver's side, that said, I'll stick with just the passenger side for now.
