Review & Installation Video

Review & Install Video

This is my review and installation of the Mopar front light bar, fitting all 2007 and up JKs. Today, we're going to talk through the installation of this light bar, which will install on your Jeep without the need to drill or cut anything, and very simply. So I'm going to give this a one out of three wrenches, and you should be able to get this done in under an hour. But we'll talk more about that installation in just a second. A light bar like this one is for those of you who aren't interested in changing up the front bumper on the Jeep. You like that factory plastic front bumper. But you do want to change the look of the front of your Jeep, and add some additional functionality by being able to mount up to three additional auxiliary lights. Now, this bar is going to be fairly similar to some of the other ones on the market. It's also going to be similarly priced, which is a bit of a surprise to me. Generally, when you're getting something that is made by Mopar, you're paying a significant premium over some of the other aftermarket. However, this part is still very fairly priced. It's well-built, and I think this is going to be as good of an option as any of the other ones if you're looking to add a light bar to your factory bumper. This is going to be a tubular steel light bar that's covered in a textured black powder coat finish. That's going to do a really nice job of both protecting the steel and matching the factory plastic black accents on your Jeep, as well as a lot of the other aftermarket parts you may have bolted onto your JK. This does have three individual light mount tabs up top. So this is really designed for individual lights, whether they be larger halogen round or HID round lights, or smaller, square LED cubes. You can mount two or three, however many you'd like. If you do want to mount an LED light bar onto this mount, chances are the mounts aren't going to line up exactly with these tabs and you are going to have to do a little bit of fabrication. But that's going to be the case with any one of these bars. Now, this is designed really well. So as I said before, this is going to bolt directly onto your Jeep, without the need to do any major modifications. In fact, you don't even need to remove the front bumper. So to get this installed, as I said before, is a very simple one out of three-wrench installation that you should be able to do in under an hour with just a couple of hand tools. The first step is going to be mounting the brackets onto the side of your frame horns. Now, those brackets are going to come up on the outside of the frame horns and stick up a little bit past the top of your bumper, and that's what this bar is actually going to sit on. You'll go ahead and attach those brackets, using the included hardware, directly onto your frame rails. Then, simply slide this bar on top and attach it with its included hardware. After that, of course, you are going to be mounting your lights. You're going to have to do all of the wiring, and that might take a little bit more time. But as far as the bar itself, definitely under an hour for a very easy install. This light bar comes in at right around $100, which, like I said before, is very affordable for something that comes out of a Mopar box. Generally, if it's Mopar, it says "Jeep" on it. It's officially licensed. You're paying a huge premium over a lot of the other aftermarket. This is very fairly priced. It's also very well built. I think it's well designed in the fact that you don't have to drill or cut anything to get it installed. However, that is going to be similar to a lot of the other aftermarket ones. So if you are looking for a piece like this to add some additional lights onto your factory front bumper, I think this is going to be as good of an option as any and it is affordably priced. So if you like that factory plastic front bumper on your JK, you're not ready to swap it out for a plate steel, more off-road-friendly bumper, however, you do want to add some auxiliary lighting for the functionality and also for the looks, this is going to be an easy bolt-on option that isn't going to be way over-priced when you compare it to a lot of the other aftermarket. So that's my review of the Mopar front light bar, fitting all 2007 and up JKs, that you can find right here at extremeterrain.com.

Brighten The Night. The Mopar Front Light Bar is here to support your need for extra off-road lights on your Jeep Wrangler. This smart, yet rugged design will allow you the assistance needed to add more illumination so you can see better at night when the conditions on the terrain get a little trickier.

Thorough Build. This frame-mounted light bar provides a sturdy area for extra off road lights. This Mopar Front Light Bar is made of strong steel tubing with a durable textured black powder coat finish. It can support either three 6" lights, or two 8" ones, depending on your need.

Installation. Installing the Mopar Front Light Bar is simple. The part bolts directly to the factory holes and all installation hardware is included. Take note: On 2011-2014 Wranglers, one mounting point is blocked, so you'll need a magnet to star the nut. Also, for 2007-2018 models, there are 3 bolt holes, but only the 2 in the vertical line are for mounting the light bar.

Application. The Mopar Front Light Bar fits all 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler models.

Looks good on jeep. Just had a tough time getting bolts to screw into nuts, as it's a very tight fit. Overall , very happy with this.

          Mopar light bar

Cheaper than I thought for an original stock product...however this was really easy to install. Follow the instructions and use a bit of know now and common sense and you will do just fine even if you are not mechanically inclined. This literally took me 10 minutes to install and 4 mins of that wAs getting the correct tools out of my tool box to do the job. In the end this is not a cheap and flimsy product. It’s very sturdy and made of very good quality materials. I totally recommend this.

Great light bar and grill protector

Sort of a difficult install for me. Had to cut the factory trim behind bumper. Needed another set of hands as getting nuts and washers on are way more difficult than you might imagine depending on your year....have a helper handy or just hit yourself in the head with a wrench

Good Product, don't be fooled about installation

This is a great product, but if you believe it can be easily installed, that is simply not true. The best way to install it is to lift your Jeep and take the bumper off. Trying to install it in your garage without removing anything might technically be possible, but it isn't practical.

Great OEM Look and This Is A Bolt-On

Installed light bar looks great on the bumper. Looks like it came from the factory. This is a bolt on product and project! No cutting, drilling, or major removal of major body parts is required. All parts are designed to integrate with the bumper and bumper filler. Remove the splash guard (6 push pins) and installation is straightforward. Use an open end wrench to lift the nuts to the bolt holes from below. Tighten, install the bar, tighten the bar nuts and bolts, and your done except for the lights.

          Light bar love it...

Great light bar for the money! Good instructions and easy to attach. I’ve got two ARB IPF 968’s on the way to mount them next week. Hope two lights will do....but if they don’t then I have 3 light slots available on the bar I might have to order another light even if I don’t need it because I think a row of 3 lights will look really good across the front.

          Great lights. Super bright

For the size and cost these lights are super bright. This was my first time installing lights so that's why it took me an afternoon. As I was reading the directions I just couldn't figure out the whole "cigarette lighter power" thing. A youtube video helped me with that. Now, I'm thinking of moving these to the windshield and getting round lights for the front.

          Poor directions

Install takes longer than suggested, bumper must be removed For access . The plastic sight shield needed to have 11/2 inch holes drill for the bar mounts to fit properly. Looks good but it took 3 hrs to install..

          Mopar Front Lught Bar

Very easy install. Helps to remove the bottom wind deflector for easier access. No drilling or cutting needed. Like the fact that if I ever change my mind and want to remove it that there are no remaining permanent ugly holes or disfiguring features.

Good looking piece of kit, easy to install. Would've been nice to have had a template provided to show where the holes in the trim between the front bumper and the body have to go to allow you to actually fit the product!! Bit sloppy, that.
