Thermostatic Cooling. Keep the engine temperature low and prevent engine seizure with the Mishimoto Thermostatic Oil Cooler Kit. It regulates the engine's oil temperature when it reaches 185 degrees or more and reduces it by up to 40 degree F to get maximum performance from the engine, while increasing the oil capacity by 0.75 quart. This cooler also helps maintain the minimum pressure drop. The kit comes with Mishimoto lifetime warranty.

Kit Contents. This Mishimoto Oil Cooler Kit includes premade braided stainless steel oil lines with durable -10AN fittings, oil sandwich plate in thermostatic form and 19-row stacked-plate oil cooler.

Additional Information. This thermostatic oil cooler kit complements the Mishimoto Jeep JK transmission cooler kit and Mishimoto all-aluminum radiator. If you're seeking a free flowing oil cooler which may be more well suited for hotter climates, take a look at our Mishimoto oil cooler (part number J101047)

  • Thank you for your question! This will not interfere with a hood lock system if mounted properly.

Why don't they have this for 2017 jk like mine I liv in az don't they make stuff to keep my oil or trans cooler mines a manual ..is ther somthing for newer jks

Paul

  • Hello, for a manual transmission you will not need a transmission cooler. All of the automatic 12+ JK's come out of the factory with a transmission cooler already installed, as well as an oil cooler for the manual and automatic.

    Easy install

I installed it in my 2011 wrangler withough experiencing any big problems. Prior to stalling it I viewed the video on the mishimoto Web site which gives you a good idea of what to expect. Everything fit well but I needed to drill a separate hole to mount the top of the cooler to the radiator support. Other then that it all went smoothly.

Overkill? Sure, but it gets hot in the south.

As with every Mishimoto part ive owned, the quality is excellent and the finish is close to show quality. We wheel down in the hot south and on top of already hot days, the heat from the abuse on the engine worries me sometimes. This was put on an 08 JK and dropped the average oil temp about 20-30 degrees for running around town and close to 40 when really getting on it offroad. Worth it, depends on how you value your engine, but I feel that the reduced heat and consequential wear is! No install issues, although we did spend a good majority of the day making the install look as clean as we could.

Review from Mishimoto Oil Cooler Kit - Silver (07-11 3.8L Wrangler JK)

Mishimoto Oil Cooler Kit review by Robert

The tutorial provided did not have all tools suggested to instal the cooling kit. This had me running back and forth to the store. If it wasn't for that I would have been faster. Quick tip: I also used ziplock instead of the pin provided on the top mounting bracket because it was more secure. When I used the pin it popped of. The fit was a little rough to get in but its manageable. Overall It gives me the confidence to push my jeep for some fun since the last time my hot oil light when off. It gives it an aggressive concurring look pepping out that front grill. I love it

Not having an oil cooler stock in my JK was horrible when beating it off road. I would have to stop multiple times when my "hot oil" light came on and it was a buzz kill. Now I can trail all day long without having an issue. Breeze to install, but quite pricey. Worth it though.
