Specs. K&N designed this Gold Oil Filter to serve as a premium aftermarket upgrade for your Wrangler YJ. First, they used a resin-impregnated filter for maximum filtering. In addition, they added an inner core extension to prop up the filter and protect it from collapsing. Lastly, they brought in a heavy-duty outer shell to safeguard the filter against damaged caused by stone and rock. This shell is designed to provide over 550 psi of hydrostatic burst strength.

Filters Harmful Contaminants Out. The resin-impregnated cellulose filter allows for a high flow rate and outstanding filtration of harmful contaminants. That way, you can be sure that the filter won’t be allowing anything damaging to reach your engine and interfere with the power it generates.

Race Designed. The original Gold Oil Filter by K&N was engineered for racing application. It featured thicker canister walls for offering strength and durability to the filter so as to protect the engine against off-road rock and debris damages. No significant changes were made on the filter; just minor tweaks to make it fit on a Wrangler YJ model.

Easy Removal. K&N engineered the oil filter with a 1-inch nut welded to the canister’s top. This makes it easy for the canister to be wrenched off using standard tools whenever you feel like changing the oil. It also eliminates the need to pound a screw driver through the oil filter whenever you’re trying to remove it.

Warranty Information. K&N provides a one-year structural warranty on the oil filter.

Application. The Gold Oil Filter is designed to be installed in all 1987-1993 2.5L and 4.2LWrangler YJ Jeep models.
