How to Install J Tops USA Safari Mesh - Black on your Wrangler

This installation guide will illustrate how easy it is to install the J Tops USA Safari Mesh Top (Item # J104009).  

I had always wanted to get some sort of top for my 2015 Rubicon. Though I didn’t know which would be the best. The fact that the J Tops Safari Top has the magnets to keep it from flapping at highway speeds was the deciding factor for me on the purchase of this particular top. 

Installation Instructions:  

1. So the first thing you have to do is remove the factory top either hard or soft. Mine is a hard top, so just follow the instructions for removing your top.  

2. Next roll out the Safari Top ensuring that it is centered on the Jeep, using your roll bars as a centering guide. On the front of the Safari Top there are three “J” hooks. These hooks attach to the mounts that are located above your windshield, there are three of them. Ensure that the “J” hooks are facing up, and that the tightening strap is behind (to the rear of the Jeep) the hook.  

3. Once the three hooks are attached, and tightened I simply tucked the loose strap into the space in the front of the top. Keep the top centered on the Jeep and attach the side straps, starting from the front working to the back. Ensure that these magnets are making contact with the roof frame, this is what will keep the top from flapping while driving. Ensure that you are not tightening them down until you have attached all the straps. In the center of the Safari Top there are three magnets. Each of the straps has a clip on them. Simply release the clip, adjust the strap, and re-attach.  

4. Once you have all the straps attached, starting again from the front, and working to the rear of the vehicle, tighten each of them, and secure the clip. Once I had done this, I took the excess strap and tucked it under the roll bar, so that it was not dangling.  

5. At this point, the only thing that you need to do is turn the key, put it in Drive, and relax as you feel the wind in your hair.
