Hey, guys. Today we're checking out the License Plate Bracket with the Lamp fitting all 2007 to 2018 JK Wranglers. Now, if you're in search of some parts for restoration and you are specifically looking for a license plate bracket, this is going to be a great choice to take a look into. So, this is going to be an affordable replacement for your license plate bracket and is almost going to mimic the factory one to a tee. Now, this is made of a plastic construction, it's going to have the factory style trim, and it's gonna mount up in the OEM location reusing your OEM hardware. Now, this is great if you, again, are looking to do some restoration, if your lamp has burnt out, or even if your license plate bracket is broken, whether you went out on the trail or it's really just not doing its job and more. Again, this is going to be a great choice to take a look at. Now, what I do really like about this is the fact that it comes with the lamp included and it runs the wiring harness behind there and has the harness mounted on the back. So, again, it is going to be a factory style replacement almost to a tee.Now, this is going to be roughly $30, making it a very affordable replacement. And in my opinion, I think that that's a great price for not only the bracket but it also includes the lamp and the lamp is already installed. Now, there are options on the page available for other license plate brackets as well as license plate relocation brackets. But again, if you're specifically looking for a restoration part to your license plate, you're looking for an OEM style fit and function, this is gonna be right up your alley.Now, install is gonna be very easy. Again, the wiring harness in the back is already installed. It's completely plug and play, you don't have to do any wiring. And it's going to install exactly like the factory one. I'm gonna give it a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. We're only gonna need a couple of basic hand tools to get the job done and probably 15 to 30 minutes worth of your time. So, speaking of the install, let's jump into that now.The tools that I used for this install were an impact wrench, a 10-millimeter, and a 7-millimeter socket.So, our first step is obviously to remove our license plate. There are a couple of bolts that are behind here that we need to get to. So, I'm gonna use an 8...or a 10-millimeter socket to remove these two bolts on the side. Then we can take our license plate off. As you can tell, this has a little bit of damage, so upgrading to a new OEM style one is going to look a little bit better. So, now that we have our license plate off, we can remove the two bolts up at the top and the two bolts down at the bottom. I'm gonna be using a 7-millimeter socket to do that. So, after those bolts are removed, what we can do is pop this out of place, and we're gonna have to undo this wiring harness. So you can press down and pull back. Now, we also have to transfer over our light dome. This is what spreads out the light under the whole license plate. There's two tabs on the side we're gonna pinch and we're gonna pull back. Now, the light bulb itself, all you have to do is turn it and pull back, then we can get this out of the way.Now, this is a perfect example of why you would wanna upgrade this. Obviously, the bottom of ours is broken for a number of different reasons, putting bumpers on and off and just wear and tear over the years. So, upgrading it to one like this with the attachment points here is going to be a better solution as far as keeping this secure on the back of your Jeep. So, our first step is to put that dome light on our light bulb. Obviously, you can tell that these are almost the exact same, except for this one is new. So, now that that's on there, we can pop that into place, turn this around and pop that in. Once that's plugged in, we can line this back up. There's two tabs on the top that we're going to insert in the body of the Jeep and then everything should line up. So, first, we need to install those four 7-millimeter screws. And, I would recommend to not overtighten these. You are working with plastic here, you don't wanna overtighten and crack plastic. So, once those four bolts are installed, what we can do is slide our license plate into place, making sure that the two bolt holes are on the side of the license plate are lining up with those two posts, then we can take our factory hardware, two screws. Take that 10-millimeter socket and tighten those up. After those are tightened up, then you're all set to go.So, that's gonna wrap it up for my review and install. Make sure you like and subscribe.
