Grille Mounted Hood Safety Latch. The Grille Mounted Hood Safety Latch is designed to securely hold the hood in place while providing an additional safety mechanism to prevent accidental opening. It is an essential component for maintaining hood stability during driving and ensuring secure closure. The latch is an important feature for vintage Jeep CJ5 and CJ7 models.
Durable Construction. This hood safety latch is manufactured with quality materials to ensure strength and longevity. It features a precise bolt pattern that matches the original equipment specifications, facilitating a direct fit without alterations. The latch has a solid finish that protects against corrosion and wear.
Installation Ease. Installation is straightforward and requires no special tools or extensive modifications. The existing bolt pattern allows for a bolt-on replacement that does not require drilling, making it accessible for do-it-yourself installation.
Application. Specifically fits 1982 through 1986 Jeep CJ5 and CJ7 models. If your Jeep has an earlier grille design, this latch will not fit and the earlier style latch is recommended instead.
