    Video Review & Installation

I'm Ryan from and this is my review of the Gibson Metal Mulisha 5 inch Dual Split Axleback Exhaust fitting all 2007 to 2016 JKs. This is also available in a dual side option that puts the exhaust pipes at a 45-degree angle, a little bit closer to the corners of the jeep. So as you can see, this is the Metal Mulisha version of Gibson's Dual Outlet Exhaust for a JK. Everything else about this system is the same as their traditional dual outlet exhaust, except this is a stainless system that's covered in their black ceramic coating and it has these over-sized five-inch tips with the Metal Mulisha graphics on them. Now, it's important to remember that whether you have a 3.8 liter or a 3.6 liter JK, your six-cylinder is never going to sound like a V8. However, if you're looking for a slightly lower exhaust note, a little more exhaust volume and you like a flashier look, this system might be exactly what you're looking for. This system is two and a half inch stainless steel tubing that's mandrel bent, and it's all covered in this black ceramic coating, which means between the type of metal and the coating, this is going to hold out for a good long time. The muffler is chambered and baffled with no internal packing which is going to give you that additional volume and that lower exhaust note. The part that really sticks out on this exhaust are the tips. If you're looking for a flashy look and you really want to be noticed, these exhaust tips will get the job done. However, in my opinion, a five-inch exhaust is something that should be on a diesel truck more than a jeep. And those of you who take your jeeps off-road know that an exhaust system and especially an exhaust tip can easily get smashed on the trail. So if you're somebody who spends a lot of time on the rocks, this system is probably not at the top of your parts list.Swapping out the muffler on your jeep is really easy. The first step in getting this installed is to remove the factory muffler by removing the single clamp and two hangers that pull it into place. Those of you who have done exhaust work in the past know exhaust components like to get rusty, so I definitely recommend soaking the bolt with a good penetrating oil before you get started. It's also helpful to have some grease and a good pry bar handy to remove the hangers. The nice thing about this system is that it will bolt right into place without the need for cutting anything and uses all of the factory hangers. Once the exhaust is in place, you attach the tips and you're done. The whole process should only take about an hour depending on how rusty your factory system is, and you'll only need a socket set and some pry bars. Gibson is known for making a quality exhaust system that's not at the top of the price range, and especially with this system, in particular, I think that's exactly what you get. Between the stainless material and the black ceramic coating, this is going to hold up for a really long time, and it's an easy installation. So if you're looking for an exhaust system that's going to make you stand out from the others and that's a little bit on the flashy side and that's going to provide a little bit of that lower exhaust note and some more volume, all while staying on a budget, I would recommend taking a look at this axleback. So that's my review of the Gibson Metal Mulisha 5 inch Dual Split Axleback Exhaust fitting all 2007 to 2016 JKs that you can find right here at
