Hey, guys. Joe from ExtremeTerrain. In this video we're gonna be going over the Extang Solid Fold 2.0 Tonneau Cover fitting all '16 and newer Tacomas. Now this is gonna be the perfect tonneau cover for any Tacoma owner out there that's looking to spend a little bit more to get a tonneau cover that does it all. It's quick and easy to use. It's secure and it looks right at home on the back of any Tacoma. So let's start off the video with build quality. What is this thing made out of? And we have some patented stuff going on here from Extang. They have one inch thick patented EnduraShield panels that are gonna make up most of this tonneau cover. It also features a thermopolymer plastic in an aluminum frame. It's got that awesome black textured finish on there as well which simply put, it's gonna match perfectly with any blackout build and really any Tacoma build in general. Now the one thing I always like to touch on when it comes to tonneau covers is gonna be a big one and that is security. A lot of vinyl tonneau covers out there, they might cost you 150 bucks, they might keep the stuff in your bed dry but as far as security goes, all it takes is one of these right here, regular old pocketknife to get into whatever it is that you have in the bed of your truck. So when you step your game up a little bit, you get a tonneau cover like this one, it's gonna take a lot more tools to get to whatever it is you have in the bed of your truck. So if you're the type of guy that's carrying anything of value in the bed of your truck regularly, a tonneau cover like this one is definitely gonna be a worthwhile investment. The Extang 2.0 is also really quick and easy to use. We have some spring-loaded clamps at the back here. All you have to do is drop the tailgate, pull down, fold those clamps up and out of the way. This thing rolls right back. Then you got some buckles up by the bulkhead to hold the panels in place. You could drive around like that and have access to pretty much the entire bed. Now I say pretty much the whole bed because well, this isn't specific to this tonneau cover but trifold tonneau covers in general is it's gonna take a little bit of extra work to get that last panel removed. That is pretty much locked in place. You're gonna have to crawl into the bed and do some work if you do need access to the full bed but that's just something to keep in mind.Pricing for this. As you guys probably could've guessed, this is a high quality option and that is gonna reflect in the price tag. Right about 875 bucks. Definitely more toward the expensive side. Well worth it in my opinion. Again, if you're looking for something secure, looks good, easy to use, this thing is gonna do it all. And Extang even throws in a three year limited lifetime warranty. Before we move on to the install here, one thing I do wanna make a quick note on. Obviously, there's two versions of this tonneau cover available. One for the long bed, one for the short bed. We're working with the short bed today. The long bed install might be a little bit different. You might need to do one extra clamp on here. But you'll get the gist of how it goes when we show you how to do this in just a second.I'm gonna give this an easy one out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter. Should take you at most 15 minutes to a half an hour if you come with the right tools. So without any further ado, let me show you what tools you'll need and how it's done.Tools you'll need for this install will include a T25 Torx bit. This hand one does come included in the kit. However, I'd highly recommend getting one on a socket. That'll speed things up a lot. You'll also need a T30 Torx bit. One of those does not come in the kit, and a way to spin it.So the first thing we're gonna need is the ratchet and T30 Torx bit. This header bar up the front here, it doesn't really make a good seal with the side rails. Extang gives you brand new seals so we're gonna remove that, install those on the side, get this nice and watertight before we start on our tonneau cover. Now in order to get this out of the way, there's five of these T30 Torx bolts underneath of the bar. We're gonna remove them all.So once you get the rail off, you'll have access to the end here. Here's what the new foam seals look like. They got some 3M double sided tape on the back. All we're gonna do, remove that backing and that is going to stick right in place on the end like that. And then when we reinstall this, it'll be weather-tight. We're gonna flip this over and hit the other side as well.So now that we have our bulkhead seal situated, we can move on to exactly how this tonneau cover is going to attach to our truck. As you'll notice, there's really nothing here to clamp onto and this is where these little threaded blocks and this clamp bracket come into play. What this is gonna do is slide into this bar right here like so and then we can use the T25 Torx bolts in the kit to attach this bracket like that. We're gonna slide these along the rail, get them to line up with our tonneau cover. Then we'll lock this down and clamp our tonneau cover to it.So we're gonna take this plastic cover. That slides right off and then each side is gonna get two of these threaded blocks. And one is gonna go up at the front. And now we can reinstall that plastic cap. We're gonna do the same thing for the other side.So now with the tonneau cover up on the bed of the truck you could better see how this is gonna work. We're gonna slide those threaded holes underneath of our clamping channel here and then we're gonna go for the upper set and bolt that down. And we're gonna line that up one final time and tighten it down with a T25 Torx bit.At this point, we can go ahead and take our clamp. That's gonna slide over like so. You wanna flip that around so that tooth is gonna catch and then you could crank up on that thumbscrew to lock it in place. And we're gonna repeat the same process for the other side. Now there are two more clamps at the rear. As you can see, the actual clamping system is gonna be a little bit different. So we're gonna go for the bottom set of holes this time. Now if I close the tonneau cover, you could see how this is gonna work. All you have to do basically is pull that down out of its little foldaway spot. And this is spring-loaded so that's just gonna clamp on like so. We're gonna go ahead and remove this and hit the same thing for the other side. All that's left for us to do is go ahead and shut the tailgate. But that's gonna do it for my review and install of the Extang Solid Fold 2.0 Tonneau Cover fitting all '16 and newer Tacomas. As always, guys, thank you so much for watching. Keep it right here at ExtremeTerrain for all things Tacoma.
