Hey, guys. So, today I'm here with the DV8 Off-Road Tubular Rock Slider Steps fitting all 2018 and newer four-door JL Wranglers. So, if you're not a fan of the factory side step and you're looking for an upgrade for a little bit more protection or you don't have anything taking up this room and you're looking for something stylish and functional to take up that wheel to wheel space, this option by DV8 Off-Road is gonna be a really good one to take a look at. So, this is gonna have a large step on the front and the back that's gonna provide you easy access when getting in and out of your Jeep, especially if it's lifted. And you even have a plate on the front that's gonna help you out with roof access if you have a roof rack mounted up to your Wrangler. Now, this is gonna have a ribbed and cutout surface on the top which is gonna provide drainage on those wetter days as well as traction on those wetter days to make getting in and out of your Wrangler as easy as possible. Now, this is not only gonna provide you with that accessibility but it's also gonna provide you with a lot of heavy-duty protection. So, this is made of a heavy-duty steel tubular construction with a textured black powder coat finish on top. So, this is able to take some abuse off-road while protecting that steel underneath from any rust or corrosion. Now, I personally think that this is a really good option for a rock slider because it tucks high and tight up into that rocker area which is very vulnerable. So, it's gonna provide a lot of protection to that pinch weld area but also come out a little bit giving you outward protection. So, if you are off-road and you do hit an obstacle, you will be able to slide right off of it with these or if you're just in the parking lot and somebody opens their door, this is gonna take the hit and not the body of your Wrangler. So, these are gonna be roughly $550 which put them at a very average price point for rock sliders and heavy-duty protection out on the page. Now, when you take a look at rock sliders and side steps collectively, you'll usually see that those more cost-effective choices are for the lighter protection and they're usually dedicated as just a side step for accessibility. Now, this is gonna be a little bit more expensive than those just because this is providing that heavy-duty protection as well as that accessibility and I like that you get the best of both worlds with this. Not to mention, some of those more expensive options are usually gonna require a little bit of modification. They may even come up onto your rocker area which you would have to drill into your body for that. So, I think if you're looking for something right in the middle of the road, you're looking for heavy-duty protection as well as easy access in and out of your Jeep, then this is a really good option to take a look at.So, install is gonna be a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. You're only gonna need some very basic hand tools to get these mounted up. So, speaking of the install, let's jump into that now.The tools that I used for my install were: an impact wrench, 3/8-inch drive ratchet, and a 13-millimeter deep socket. So, if you have a factory side step, you will need to remove it using a 10-millimeter and a 13-millimeter socket to remove that factory hardware. Now, if you don't like us, our first step is gonna be to mount up our side step. It does have studs on the side so this will be able to hang in the pinch weld but I would recommend to have your hardware as well as a 13-millimeter deep socket and a ratchet handy to secure this down. So, you will wanna make sure that you do have the right side, the back end is gonna be tapered off and a little bit smaller than the front, then we can go ahead and mount this up into our pinch weld. Once this step is there, it's stable so we can head underneath our Jeep and secure it down. So, what we're gonna do first is secure the top of our side step down to the welded nut on our body. Now you're gonna have a bolt, a flat washer, and a lock washer and you might have to move the side step around in order to get that threaded in. And then I'm going to use a 13-millimeter socket just to thread that in a little bit more just to make sure that this stays in place and then we can secure down the studs on our pinch weld. So, with this, you're also gonna have a flat washer, a lock washer, and nut. And in order to pull the side step forward a little bit you can use that same 13-millimeter deep socket in order to snug that up and tighten that up. So, what we're gonna do next is attach all of our other hardware then we can come back and completely tighten everything down. So, once we have all of our hardware in and threaded on, what we can do is just completely tighten everything down. So, after everything is tightened up, what we can do is repeat that process on the other side and then you're all set to go.So, that's gonna wrap it up for my review and install. Almost 5 stars
The sliders look really nice installed. Description says these accommodate jeep's factory mounting hardware, but... the 6 factory bolts that fit horizontally on the slider (welded on a plate) are larger than factory's. Also, the same 6 did not align to the frame so I had to use a drill to make the holes larger on the passenger side. No big task.Helpful (2)

They are very sturdy and look great.
These sliders added a unique rugged look to my 2018 JLU. I like how they taper from front to back. They do a good job at hiding the mounting hardware too. They help short people climb in if you're lifted because they provide a place to step. I rest my foot on it when I have the doors off... like a G. They're fairly easy to put on, although the tight fit had me worried while installing the last screw for each side. God forbid the day I have to take them off. I completed the install myself and it only took about 45 minutes, but if your'e not a seasoned muscle bound mechanical genius warrior with unrealistically huge barbaric muscles and the strength of a grizzly, it will probably take you 46 minutes. These sliders are awesome, and you should get them if you want to be like me.Helpful (2)

Above Average Product, Mediocre Experience
This review box give specific directions NOT to mention customer service, but rather tell folks only about the product. Despite this pointed advice, I believe both create the entire experience. The box product arrived on time; however, two of the rock sliders were exposed. Someone used a terrible attempt at box taping the end of the box so the sliders would not fall out. I have a 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL Sport Unlimited. I needed to use my drill to "help" the product fit as expected. Also, similar to other reviews, the two front bolts welded on both sliders were not long enough, so I was only able to use the washer (not the washer and lock washer). The final result looks good.Helpful (1)

Steps were a must. The design is very well thought through. They notched out a section where your leg usually goes. Only down fall is its body mounted and not frame.Helpful (1)

These do look good. Built really well but has some flaws. First, one end of the sliders was damaged when it arrived. A can of spray paint somewhat concealed the dent and missing paint. The holes on the pinch seam needed to be widened because the bolts did not completely line up. The bolts at the front are not long enough for any washers and lock washers. After the install, the sliders did not sit completely horizontal. I used longer bolts and a bunch of washers on the body tub to lift up and level these sliders. I’m very disappointed with my purchaseHelpful (5)
