      Review & Installation Video

Ryan: These DV8 Off-Road SR-6 rock slider steps are for those of you that have 4 Door 2007 to 2018 JK that are looking for a step that is going to also offer some protection and have a unique style. That's something that DV8 Off-Road has been bringing in this newer line of products. A unique style, something that looks different from everything that you can get from a lot of other manufacturers out there. And if that's what you're looking for this is gonna be a great option for you. I'm gonna give this a two out of three wrenches for installation, very, very simple, and we'll talk more about that in just a second. The overall idea of this isn't necessarily unique. This is going to be a slider and a step that attaches to the bottom of the tub and also to the pinch seam in three different locations, and it is a tubular construction. But the similarities between this and the other things you can find on the market really do end there. So the shape of the tubes here is very unique. You have this one being larger than this one, this is the one that's gonna be underneath the front door which is wider, the back door is narrower so it makes sense that this one is larger than this one here. And it has a very [inaudible 00:01:04] swept back angular, very pointed design to it and it is very, very unique. I personally like this design. If you like it as well this is gonna be a great option for you. Up on top as far as a stepping pad, these are very, very aggressive. These are pieces that are riveted on, this is nice thick steel, powder coated like everything else and it has some really, really aggressive ribbing there, so you're not going to have to worry about any sort of slipping when you're getting in and out of your Jeep whether it's snowy, muddy, rainy, whatever it might be. You get plenty of traction on these treads here. So, very unique style, very unique design and still at a very fair price. I think you'd expect to pay a little bit more for something that is a little bit different. And these are gonna be a little bit more expensive than those more basic options that you can find, but not out of this world expensive, I think still very fair especially for something that's unique. So any time you're shopping for a step or a slider you're really gonna get something that's a great step and not a great slider or the reverse, a great slider, great protection, but not a great step. And this is going to be more on the protection side than it is going to be the step side, but it is more of a 50/50 balance here. So you're gonna get something that's tucked up nice and close to the body, it's not gonna hang down very low like some of the tubular side steps do. So you're not gonna get this hung up on the trail. And if you do need to use this as a slider, you get into a tight spot, four doors are long, you might get a little high centered, something comes up and rubs along the bottom of this, it's not going to cause any damage. This isn't going to completely collapse, this is going to offer some nice rocker protection. Now, even though it's mounted up a little bit higher because it does wanna be a higher clearance piece of rocker protection it still has a very pronounced step to it and, as I said, a very aggressive tread on the top of that step as well. So you are getting a very nice mix, almost a 50/50 balance of protection and step from this. What you're also getting, and I've already mentioned a couple times now, is that unique style. So if you like the style, if you want the protection, if you want a step, I think that this is a really good choice. A pair of these sliders for your 4 Door will come in at right around $350. I do think that's gonna be a good deal for these, it's right around the same price as a lot of the other ones that are kind of a similar idea, again, not the same design, this is unique. But you're not paying a huge premium for this unique styling. And these are still very fairly priced and you're getting something that's different which I like. Now, a member of the install team will show you how you get this bolted up. Man: All right guys, the first thing you're gonna wanna do is line up your rock sliders with the pinch weld on your Jeep. You're gonna do that by lining up the studs with the holes on your rocker. Now, once you have it lined up you're gonna go ahead and hand tighten in the 13-millimeter nuts on the back. Now, again, you're gonna wanna leave these hand tight until you have all your hardware installed. Once you have your 13-millimeter nuts hand tight you're gonna go ahead and install the 13-millimeter bolts to the body. You're gonna do that by putting them directly through this arm. Once you have these hand tight you're gonna go ahead and fully tighten them down. You're gonna repeat this process on all three. Once you have your bolts mounting to the body tightened up, you're gonna go back and tighten up the nuts using a 13-millimeter socket. And with everything tightened up, that wraps up our review and install. Check out more at

        Excellent Design and Value

The notch in the slider/step is genius, at first it looks great. Then after installing and getting in and out of the Jeep, you don't have to drag your leg over the step, great after muddy days.

        DV8 Off Road steps

Very easy install but packaging was poor. Some of the rivets were broke but I replaced them with small black screws. Look and perform well.

        3 2017 Wrangler - Lee

Like the product but not quality of powder coat

I like the form and function of the steps. However the packaging was torn up upon arrival. When I opened the package completely there was some a light tinge of rust color on parts of the steps and bolts. The rust cannot be an issue with the delivery service. I am disappointed that this would have been shipped in the first place. Inside the steps/rails were wrapped in a foam and I could not see visible scratches or nicks, so appears to be a less than quality powder coat job and then maybe has sat around in warehouse for a while.

        5 2009 Rubicon - VictorLopez

        DV8 Slider Steps

Well first go round I got a beautifully boxed bumper, not a ding or mark on the box, but it was a bumper......not the steps.....a quick cal, and I printed the return label/RMA,and had it back on the UPS truck ASAP. Excellent Customer Service. Today, the correct steps came in, beautiful coating, hardware, and slick foam-paper wrapping. The box looked horrible, but fit/finish was superb. Install is extremely self explanatory on a Rubi....remove factory rails, replace with DV8 instructions necessary. Took myself and my 12yr old about 20 minutes. These are not something I’ll see on every Jeep around so the small hassle initially is easily justified. They are super rigid and fully welded/coated. I’m glad I found!!!

        Not sure what to do

When received the coating was cracking and coming off leaving spots unfinished. Also when they get wet rust comes from under top plate and splatters on rear tire well.

        Great looking. Easy install.

These slider/steps look great, function, great, and install easily. The way they shed water and ice seems keeps them from getting slick.
