Fun and Effective Brake Warning. If you've ever been rear-ended while driving your Jeep Wrangler, you'll appreciate the added measure of prevention that Delta's LED Third Brake Light Lug Nuts will provide. These lights fit right into 2 empty lug nut spaces in the wheel of your spare tire to provide a highly visible warning to anyone following your Jeep. These lights will also allow you to remove the irritating rear window brake light, which can also impede your rear vision.

Premium Component. The lights themselves are encased in sturdy rubber grommets configured for lug holes that measure at least 0.6" in diameter or larger.

Installation. Made in America, these LED Third Brake Light Lug Nuts are easy to install, and the extensions fit right into the connection for the rear window brake light.

Warranty. Delta covers with a standard 5 year limited warranty.

does this come with long enough wire to use with swing away tire carrier?

    BrianJ

    • If you have an aftermarket swing away tire carrier this will not come with wiring long enough to utilize the swing arm. They provide enough wiring for spare tire mount for the stock tailgate. You may be able to splice in extensions to utilize a swing away tire carrier but I would recommend taking the vehicle to a professional for proper installation.

LED 3rd brake light lug nuts

I mounted them on my 05 Rubicon and looks great. The 3rd brake lights are brighter than the factory tail lights. Small and easy to install. Plenty of extra wire to get around my oversize bumper and tire. My kids like the "eyes" look.

      Bright and looks Great!

These look great and were easy to hook up! Instead of putting them in the lug holes in the wheel, I drilled out the stock tire carrier and mounted them there using the supplied spacers that came with the lights. So I shouldn't have to even unplug them to use the spare tire!

      Modification required

For the price you can't neat these lights. You do have to shave down the base to get them to fit into stock wheels, even then they watn to pop out. I wrapped some electrical tape arou d the base, problem solved.

      Just what I needed.

Going with the Barricade swing away tire mount, the stock 3rd brake light wasn't going to work. This worked just as advertised. Am a happy customer.

Don’t fit stock wheel lug holes.

Wiring them was pretty straight forward, but the lights didn’t fit into the stock JK lug holes. Tried trimming them to fit, and ended up the breaking the entire red housing off one of the lights. Lights work fine, but one light is now missing the red housing.

      Wouldn't Recommend Unless...

I have a TJ with JK Wheels on it. You'll have to do some modifications before it will some what fit in properly. I wish I could get a refund but it's probably to late now. Plus, the lights blew my fuse out. And I didn't have rear lights working as a whole till I found the burnt fuse. So, it doesn't work still...

      cool alternative.

I'm not a big fan of the traditional 3BL. These are easy to install. My tire is mounted on a swing out for my bumper, making it higher than if on the tailgate. This is ideal for the setup.

      Stock wheels=modify

These are not made to fit stock Jeep wheels, not even close. There are directions on what needs to be done if you have stock wheels but I had to go way beyond them and get creative. You need to turn down the diameter of the red plastic sticking out the back of the lights. Directions say to use a belt sander or course file. I would say: belt sander=yes course file=no. This has to be done to get the plastic to fit through the lug stud hole. There is a rubber grommet with an angled rubber end. There is no way this is even starting in the lug stud hole, I cut the angled area off. This allows a much more snug fit for the light and allows a small length of the red plastic shaft to stick slightly out the back of the wheel. On the area that sticks out I used a die grinder to notch a groove all the way around. Pushing hard on the front of the light I put an O-ring into the groove. This gave a very secure, tight fit to the whole assembly. Other thing I would suggest is use some of your own wire connectors vs. the ones that come with the kit. I did make them work but really struggled. If you do use the kit's connectors have another set of hands to help hold wires while clipping the connector closed. The lights are bright and with a lot of modification do fit securely. Good price but a lot of time and patience went into these.

      3rd brake light

Good product nice and bright that was during daylight at night it shines bright only took 10 minutes to install I didn't have to make any modifications to the lights themselves as I read other people's reviews that they had to modify the bushing around the lights themselves to fit in the lug holes not trying to brag but I guess that's what happens when you have real wheels on a real Jeep

      Almost a good idea

Have tried to wire these things every which way and can still only get one light to work. That 1 is nice and bright but something is wrong with the wiring between the light and the Jeep.

Not the best fit, but works

Bought these after getting a ticket for no third brake light. Overall they seem to be pretty high quality pieces but if you have any type of aftermarket wheels they will most likely not fit without some type of creative modifications. The instructions tell you to grind part of the rubber gasket off if the lug holes are too small but after grinding to what was nearly a hair's thickness they still didn't fit. I ended up having to take the gaskets completely off and wrap a single layer of electrical tape around the LED housing. That gave me just enough space to fit snugly (after some pretty hard pushing) into the lug holes. They haven't moved yet and so far seem to be holding. If you have ANY type of aftermarket wheel you'll probably be looking at similar problems. Time to install should have been a few minutes but with constant modifying, testing and failing until finally giving up on the gaskets it took closer to an hour.
