Hey, guys. Today I'm here with the Carrichs iPad Mini Dash Kit, fitting all iPad Mini 1, 2, and 3s, as well as all 2011 to 2018 JK Wranglers. So if you're looking to give the interior of your JK a little bit of upgrade and a little bit of refresh without breaking the bank, this dash kit is a perfect way to do that. So this is going to transform the interior of your JK by very easily mounting up your current iPad Mini up on your dashboard while not being able to sacrifice your head unit that you currently have in your JK or modifying or removing any trim that's already there. This just magnetizes right over, so it's very convenient. You can very easily remove it and put it on whenever you want to use it as a navigation system or even as an entertainment system. Though there's not many other options on the site for mounting up electronics, we do have other dash trays that will hold smaller electronics like your phone or your GPS, but nothing really compares to this on this site right now. So at the moment, this is roughly $140 though I do think that for what this is, it is a little bit steep in the price. However, you do have to keep in mind that this is a very unique product. And I do like the fact that this holds very well. I do do a shake test in later in the video, so you can check that out. It does fit very well with the contours of the interior. It does look very nice. So I would keep that in mind when shopping. Plus you don't have to break the bank to get a new head unit. If you wanted to upgrade, you can use what you already have and just get a mounting unit for it. So install is gonna be a very easy, one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. You are going to need a couple of hand tools, and it shouldn't take you any longer than an hour to get everything installed. So speaking of the install, let's jump into that now. The tools that I use for my install today were a trim removal tool, a ratchet, and a 7-millimeter socket. So the first step to our install is to take out our little plastic piece that sits in this upper panel and then we can take off these 7-millimeter bolts holding in this dash track. So I'm using a 7-millimeter socket and a ¼-inch drive ratchet. So our next step is to remove this lower panel underneath the steering wheel that's going to expose two 7-millimeter bolts that we can remove in order to remove this top panel here. So grab a trim removal tool and go ahead and pry that off. So after this is popped off, we can take our saber ratchet and 7-millimeter socket and we can remove the bolts that are wholly in this top portion. And then, you'll have one on the other side as well. So we do have one more bolt to get to behind our window control unit. We're gonna use the same interior trim removal tool and pry back on that. Just get that out of the way. So once you pull that forward, you will have a harness here. You can just release it with the clip on the back, should be pretty easy to pull off. And then once that harness is removed, you'll be able to expose the 7-millimeter bolt we have there. Just like the other ones, we're gonna use 7-millimeter deep socket and our ¼- inch drive ratchet. Then we can fully remove our dash trim piece by using our trim removal tool and prying up and forward. It may be best to put your steering wheel all the way down just so you have some extra space to work with but it should pop right off. Now, we're ready to mount up our dash kit to our dash. So this is made of OEM grade plastic, it has a black matte finish to it. So it's going to look very well and fit very well on top of your dashboard, looking like it came out of the factory. And personally, I think it fits very well for what it is. Now, this is going to be held on by NeoMag technology. These aren't pretty strong, and I was kind of impressed when I did take them out of the box. So this really makes it easy to pop off or put on whenever you like, whenever you're not using it, or whenever you want your iPad on your dash. So I have my iPad here. I just wanted to show you guys how to attach this before we actually mount this up to our dashboard. So all you have to do is slide this in place. There will be a phone tab on the back here to kind of cushion the iPad and make sure that it doesn't get damaged on the back. Now, I wouldn't recommend this for the Rubicon trail. However, this does hold up pretty well to a shake test. So if you do take this out on the trail, you won't have to worry about your iPad as much as you may think. Not to mention you even get a little door here in order to charge up your iPad whenever you need to. So now we're ready to mount up our dash kit to our dash. So we are going to place this over and lock it in place with a little bit of tape. This is just going to make sure that it stays in position so when we flip it over and mount up our magnets, everything lines up perfectly and how we want it to. So I'm just going to keep this in place. Perfect. We can flip it over and see where we want to place our magnets. So what we're gonna do is attach our two circular magnets down here on their own notches placed on the inside of your trim. You're going to peel back the three sticky tape cover and then place where you would like it face down. And then we are just going to press that on their mutual sticks. We are gonna do the same thing for the other circular magnet. So for the top here, they do give you little templates in order to know where you have to stick the magnets. Just it looks like it's on the outermost corner there. So what we're gonna do is remove our tape's backing and attach that to the magnets there. So I'm to press these on there to take off the templates. So now we can flip this over and take our tape off. So, you'll be able to see now that this can very easily stick. And it's pretty strong. It will be more stable once it's on the Jeep. However, just from seeing this on the table, it does seem like it will hold up pretty well. So now we're gonna reinstall this. All you have to do is just pop it back into place. You will be able to hear a click in all the clips. So now we can start by attaching the bolt on our window control unit, taking it down with the same 7-millimeter socket that we used before. Once that's snugged up, we can take the actual unit, plug it back in, and pop that back in place. You should hear a click, and pop that back in. Now, we can move on to the panel underneath our steering wheel. So first we're going to reinstall these two bolts that are holding in the top dash unit. Again, we're using that 7-millimeter deep socket to do that. So once that's done, we can pop this panel in down below making sure that the bottom tabs are aligned. Then you can just throw a bit of push and pop back into place. Now we can go ahead and just secure down our top dash tray and we're all set to go. So once outside now, we can pop our tray in place and mount up our actual unit. So now we can pop this on, and it will sit in place just like that. And you can take your iPad and pop it in, and you're all set to go. So that's gonna wrap it up for my quick review and install on the Carrichs iPad Mini Dash Kit, fitting all iPad Mini 1, 2, and 3s, as well as 2011 to 2018 JK Wranglers.
