Description
Spring Conversion Kit. The BDS CJ to YJ Spring Conversion Kit enables the installation of Jeep YJ springs onto CJ models, enhancing the suspension characteristics. This upgrade improves ride quality by incorporating larger bushings and reducing leaf spring friction while slightly increasing the wheelbase by just over one inch.
Construction and Appearance. The kit includes heavy-duty greaseable shackle hangers, upper shackle mount bushings, and front and rear spring mounting plates with U-bolts. All components are designed to provide durability and secure attachment suitable for off-road conditions.
Installation. Installation requires moderate mechanical skill and approximately six to eight hours of work. The kit may require additional modification, such as elongating plate holes when used with Dana 44 rear axle setups, and separate U-bolts may be necessary. No specific drilling references are made.
Application. This kit fits 1976 to 1986 Jeep CJ5, CJ7, and Scrambler models. It does not fit Dana 44 rear axles without modification.
