How to Install BBK Air Filter Cleaner & Re-Oil Kit (87-17 Wrangler YJ, TJ & JK) on your Jeep Wrangler

STEP 1: Remove filter from vehicle.

STEP 2: Wipe large debris from filter. Using the taller white bottle of cleaner from the kit, liberally  spray the cleaner until it completely saturates the pleated material.  FIG. 1 and 2

STEP 3: Allow cleaner to soak into the filter material for 10 minutes to loosen the dirt. Do not let cleaner  dry on filter.

STEP 4: Rinse filter with low-pressure water. Apply water from the inside of the filter to the outside.  You want the water to carry the dirt away, not work it further into the filter material.  Continue to rinse until all the cleaner is gone. If there are spots of dirt remaining, reapply  cleaner, let soak and rinse again.

STEP 5: After final rinsing, gently shake off excess water and allow filter to dry naturally.  Do not proceed to the filter oiling steps until filter is completely dry.  Use of any other drying methods ( I.E. Compressed air, heat guns) could damage filter.

STEP 6: For best results, insist on BBK filter oil for your BBK filters.  Using the blue filter oil from the kit, apply a bead of oil along the crown of each filter pleat.  Work your way around the filter until all pleats are covered. FIG. 3

STEP 7: Wait 20 minutes for the oil to soak into the filter material. Inspect the filter for any lighter  colored areas and touch up with a few mores drops of oil. Filter should have a uniform  blue color when finished. FIG. 4

STEP 8: Reinstall filter onto the vehicle.
