How to Install Barricade Extreme HD Rock Sliders - Textured Black on your Wrangler

Begin by locating the five body mounts that run along the frame of the vehicle. There are three along the main frame rail and one on each front and rear bumper.

Jack up the body using a sturdy block of wood. (Pictured are two 2x4s screwed together) Using the raised body rail that rests on the body bushing, jack up the body slowly until you can remove the two rear bushings.

To allow for the thickness of the slider, the bushing needs to be cut down. Measure 5mm, or about .2in, from the top of the bushing and cut.

Once the rear two bushings are cut, replace them on the frame brackets, leaving about a 1/2in gap between the metal sleeve and rubber bushing. Lower the body enough to thread the bolt in a few turns by hand. Slide the slider between the metal sleeve and rubber bushing, making sure it sits flush against the body. When you are happy with the placement, slowly lower the body back onto the mounts.

Use C-clamps on the front and rear of the slider to pull the top of the slider flush to the body. Mark and center punch each hole. Drill a pilot hole with a 1/8in bit, then follow it with a 3/8in bit. De-burr the edges of the holes, then use touch up paint or clear coat to prevent rusting.

On 2003 TJ, an access hole will need to be drilled from the inside to access the rear most bolt. It’s recommended to use a 1in hole saw, plugging it with a body plug from a CJ. You may find it easier to remove the slider to drill the holes.

With the holes drilled and the slider secured by the body mount bolts, use the provided allen wrench install the bolts, with a washer and nut on the opposite side.
