Prep:

Clean car well to ensure good adhesion of the decal. Fill a spray bottle with a mixture of water and soap (we use baby shampoo), about 4 large drops per 32 oz. spray bottle of water. Be sure to install decal out of direct sunlight. Also having someone to assist you if you can is very helpful. It may be necessary to separate multiple decals on one sheet by cutting with scissors.

Vinyl without transfer tape

Step 1:
Spray car with a generous amount of the soap and water mixture.

Step 2:
Peel backing from insert exposing the adhesive. Also spray back of decal as your peeling the backing paper off.

Step 3:
Place decal on the car. You will be able to maneuver the decal into position because of the soap and water solution you sprayed on earlier.

Step 4:
Squeegee out the water from underneath the decal with a squeegee (covered in a cloth that will not scratch the vinyl and keep the vinyl wet).

Step 5:
Use a hair dryer when needed to help the vinyl conform to the surface and help dry the underneath so the vinyl can stay in position. Once the vinyl has conformed to the shape of the car let it cool, holding it for a moment.

Vinyl with transfer tape

Step 1:
Next, spray car generously with the soap and water mixture.

Step 2:
Peel the backing from the stripes exposing the adhesive. It also helps installation if the back of the vinyl is sprayed as well. This can be done as the backing is being removed.

Step 3:
Place decal on the car. You will be able to maneuver the decal into position because of the soap and water solution you sprayed on earlier. Once you have the decal in its final position, use the plastic squeegee to push any air bubbles towards the outer edges.

Step 4:
Spray the transfer tape (the masking tape like film covering the vinyl) with the solution if your product has tape. The solution will help with the release of the tape.

Step 5:
After the solution has been squeegeed out from under the decal and the transfer tape has been wet for about ten minutes start to remove the tape. Pull the tape slowly at a sharp angle back away from the decal. It may help to put the squeegee behind the tape to apply pressure to the decal holding it tight against the tape; this will help the decal from lifting up with the tape. Take your time and go slow pulling the tape. Make sure the decal is dry enough underneath, if it lifts up carefully press it down and wait for it to dry more.

Step 6:
Once the tape is off you can use a squeegee (covered in a cloth that will not scratch the vinyl and keep the vinyl wet) if you need to, but at this point you may need to use a pin or needle to release any bubbles, squeegeeing on vinyl that has been stuck to the surface may wrinkle instead of moving air from underneath the vinyl.

On some products it may be necessary to trim to fit the decal using an X-acto knife.

On some products with complex surface curves you may use a hair dryer cautiously to help conform the decal Do not over heat it will shrivel or wrinkle.

Leave several hours, depending on climate, of dry time before cleaning car. Use a quick detailer in a spray bottle for the initial cleaning then hand wash car waiting at least several days for the first time after drying. Do not power wash vinyl or wax vinyl.
