Is this a complete kit or do I need to buy anything additional such as turn signal lights, hood latches, ect.

RickH

  • The Barricade Front Fenders with Flare do not require anything additional. You would reuse your Factory hood latch and mount it to the new fender flares. The fender flares are considered an Off-Road upgrade and do not have a mounting option for the amber turn signals. You would remove those from your vehicle after install. Some customers of our have found a small circular replacement turn signal and modified the fenders to reuse a turn signal. If your state requires it for inspection purposes than you would need to purchase those separately but unfortunately we do not currently offer a replacement light that would work with these fender flares.

What size tires can you run with these fenders and a 2" lift?

Zachary

  • Depending on wheel offset and backspace, and the tire manufacturer, you can fit between a 33 and 34 with a 2" lift and the Barricade Front Fenders

    Strong and sturdy

I've had my set of fenders for a few months now, I've wheeled them all over the west. The great thing about the fenders is the mesh side when used in combination with a hood louver. It helps reduce the temp. underneath the hood which in turn reduces the chance of heat soak. I always get comments on them and have had several other people say they want to order a set after looking at the fenders installed on my rig. the only bad thing about the fender is the install, you have to re use your old fender well and cut the old fender. Installation took about 2-2 1/2 hours and requires cutting so be prepared.

    Started out good...

Ok ive had these for several months now....I installed them very late august. granted i wish they came with a cutting template I had to wing it. My installation took longer cuz I used a grinder at the edges to smooth out the cuts and then painted the cut fenders to prevent rust. however they still did not line up perfectly with all of the original holes. REASON FOR 2 STARS They came damaged (dinged in several places) and to the websites credit gave me a partial refund and a repair kit....the repair kit is worthless...not nearly the same you cannot can spray real powder coat.... NOW half way through winter (snowed twice here) I'm noticing bubbling of the original powdercoat and slight rusting in some of the seems by the welds. I understand I got "some" moneyback,, but ths is a huge hassel, I am going to have to paint these parts and it will look studid and not original. I woud rather spend full price on another brand that doesn't rust like my buddys smitybilt with REAL powdercoat. NO I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND just spend the extra on smitybilt if you want metal..otherwise go for plastic....these are not worth the hassle

    Great fitment and looks

These fenders are great. The powder coating is very nice, packaged well, and they fit great. All of the bolt holes line up without modification and there's no more hood gap than there was with the stock fenders. I also gained about 1 1/2" of clearance over the stock fenders. Overall, these fenders seem to be built right, they fit right, and the price is right. I am more than happy with these fenders and would gladly get them again.

    Great product, no instructions.

They look really good and they are strong. Cutting the existing fender can be a bit nerve-racking. It is even worse because there is no instructions or template to tell you where to cut. It isn't rocket science, but that first cut would be easier if there was a video on youtube or even some written instruction. I still would buy them. They are a great product.

Great set of fenders but didn't come with instructions on how to cut fenders. Not a problem because I do Autobody but it will suck for a do it at home guy. Just an idea but the parts are a great deal.

    Barricade fenders

The fenders were easy enough to install. Just make sure you have a grinder with a metal cutting blade. The fenders are well made and sturdy. The directions aren't the most clear at all times, but it was still easy enough.

    It's a project

Love the look and I can't stress that enough but it wasn't sometching accomplished easily especially if you have never installed these before. It took my about a day and a half total and that doesn't include me having to buy saw blades and new hood latches due to them breaking but ran into problems and customer service was there to help and very friendly and cooperative but you need to be ready for a fun weekend project with these but the look it killer.

Great fenders with an amazing look! The only issue I had was that the holes for the turn signals were a little to small so I just had to file them down until the signals fit. All around a great product and definitely worth buying!

    Barricade Fender

I am very impressed with these fenders . Installation is super simple and very accurate hole locations. Cutting into your vehicle seems a little overwhelming but the wow factor when your done is very satisfying . It does take a full day for installation but the length is due to the fact you must remove a lot of parts and some of the bolts that need to be removed are difficult to access. With the right air tools and hand tools it becomes very simple. These fenders really tighten up the front of the jeep making it super clean and giving you so much more room within the wheel wells.

Well built, but hard to install.

The fenders themselves are well built and look great on my jeep. There are two EXTREMELY important things that Barricade can do to make this an easier install. Number one, include instructions and a template to cut the stock flares. I made up one off the intenet video of a competitors flare. I had to trim over and over because it was a guessing game. Number two, make the mesh panel removable to get to the rear bolts. I spent hours trying to reach my hand into the void from below. Can't see if the holes are lined up and there is one click on your rachet to tighten the bolts. Took forever! MAKE THE MESH PANEL REMOVABLE.

    Great Looking & Built Well

These fenders are a steal when you have to replace the old ones and they look great! Made from quality metal. Only thing that might have made it easier is if they came with a cutting template since you have to cut and attach to your old fender. We used a angle grinder with a metal cutting blade and had no problem, just took some trial and error to make our own template. Also, make sure you have a STRONG drill bit to drill the holes for the hood latches, because this metal is tough. Looks amazing though, very happy with them!

Great fix for a rusty fender

We installed the aggressive looking fenders on my 2000 Jeep Wrangler. This jeep is driven by me, a 54 year old teacher, who enjoys riding in this car. I was worried that the new tube style fenders would be to aggressive looking for my style. Was I wrong. I had a small rust spot that grew to a large rust spot on my passenger side fender and I needed to replace the fender. Since the car is already an older car I didn't want to put a lot of money into it. These fenders fit the bill. My husband installed them with the instructions from the Smittybilt ones found on their site. He took his time and held his breath as he cut my old fenders away. He also sprayed everything with a coat of truck bed liner, as it was suggested from the Jeep forum site. He also sprayed the inside of the wheel wells with bed liner. He installed the new fenders and the car looks fantastic. Take your time when installing and follow the directions. One of the most inconvenient parts was having to replace the hood clamp down system as we weren't able to get the old one off the old fender. Love the look and love have such it cleaned up my old girl. Best of luck and don't hesitate to use theses.

It was a bit of a pain to install, but overall it's great! Love the look and durability, and they are the best fenders you can get for this price! Couldn't have asked for anything better! I'm even getting ready to install Barricade's corner guards because the fenders were such an awesome product!

    Great fenders for a steal.

Overall, I am thrilled with my barricade tube fenders. I got them to replace my rusted out factory fenders. With 33" tires and only 2.5" lift, these fenders provide the additional tire clearance needed. They seem solid, well made, and uniform. The only thing these need is a set of install instructions.

The installation was easy, just take your grinder and have fun. Some instructions and a cut-out template would have been a great help and saved time as I didn't remove enough at the first try. Fit was good with just a little modification for the grill.

    fantastic fenders but...

The fenders are amazing they fit perfect. Don't remove the whole fender. Just cut the stock fender with an angle grinder. It's alot easyer. Didn't come with instructions. There was no hole for the hood strap. Really love they way they look. It changed the whole look of the jeep.
