Jake: Jake here for ExtremeTerrain, and today I'm taking a look at the Barricade 3-Inch Side Step Bars in black, fitting 2021 and newer 2-Door Broncos. If clean, simple styling is what you're after, then these side steps are just gonna be the ticket. With a really simple, classic look and a low price, these side steps are well-suited to almost any build and bring a dash of style and functionality to your 2-Door Bronco.Whether you've got a lift in your Bronco or not, adding a set of side steps can make for easier access and some added protection in addition to improved looks. I think these pair really well with the retro-type styling on the Bronco and it keeps all the benefits of adding a side step, too. Now, these are 3-inch tubular steps and they encompass the entirety of the wheelbase. So, underneath of where the doors fall you've got a rubberized step. So that's gonna make access to the cab nice and easy. It gives you a good grip for your shoes even if you've been out in the mud or wet conditions. And in addition to that, these are also gonna protect your rocker panels when you're out on the trail, too. So if you happen to go over a large obstacle, you won't have that moment of wondering if you've just destroyed your rocker. So, you don't have to stress about that. And since they sit out a little bit proud of the rockers themselves, they're also gonna help protect against door dings. So if somebody opens their door, they're more than likely gonna contact this before they contact the body of the truck. This black finish also pairs well with any paint color and it looks just right on the Bronco. It gives you a little bit of additional style, and it's gonna match pretty well with your fender flares and grille pieces on the truck, too. These steps are constructed from heavy duty, 3-inch diameter mild steel. Now this is gonna provide you with some corrosion and rust resistance as well, and you've got that black powder coat over top, too. So, despite being fairly basic in design and construction, these are gonna have some very good protection against whatever you or Mother Nature can throw your way.Pricing comes in at just about $225 for the set, and that makes these about the least expensive set you can get for the Broncos. So if you want that additional access and protection and you don't wanna pay a huge sum of money for them, these are gonna be a perfect addition to your build.Installation will get a one out of three and you can expect to spend about two hours getting these fitted. Now, these are a bolt-on setup, so they don't require any additional modifications or drilling onto your truck and you've got all the brackets and hardware that you need included in the kit as well. And to show you how to get these fitted to your Bronco, let's throw it over to one of our XT customers.Man: I have everything that came in the package with me today. I've got obviously the side steps. I have got the instructions. I have got both sets of brackets for each side of the vehicle. I've got the frame screws, which are labelled on the instructions as a 10-millimeter, but I have discovered they're actually a 16-millimeter socket. And we have the bracket screws. By the instructions are 8-millimeter, but I discovered them to be 13-millimeter sockets. Then, obviously, I've got my two socket wrenches. So, we are ready to go. I'm going to install them. All right. So I've jumped up underneath my Ford Bronco. I'm on the passenger side. I'm gonna mount my rear bracket first. To make it a little bit easier, I've decided to jack this thing up. We were looking for two holes. One is real easy, right behind the pinch point. You can see it right here in the camera. The other one is back around the edge, and it's a little bit more difficult to see. It'll be a little bit different access, too, from when we get our wrench out.So, I have my 16-millimeter socket, and I'm going to be installing the rear bracket. So, let's get this thing on here. Okay, I'm just gonna hand-tighten that. I'm gonna get my other bolt, another 16. Get that one hand-tightened to the point where the lock washer is engaged so it's about as tight as I can get it with my fingers, and that's it.Okay, we're jumping to the front bracket. So, we've got our two holes for the front bracket, and one is right here, just behind the pinch weld. The second one is much easier to access. It's right there. I got again my 16-millimeter nuts, so I'm ready to put this front bracket in. You'll be able to see it a little bit easier this time, just because of the way it's shaped. Again, I'm just gonna get these finger tight. And there's the bracket in place. The step should go forward towards the front wheel. All right, so let's see how this goes. Got the screws here. This is a 13-millimeter screw. Just gonna get it finger tight so the step doesn't fall off the bracket. All right. So I got the side step on. Now, I'm just gonna start tightening things down. For me, I wanna start with the frame. There you go. There's that. And I'm gonna switch to my 13. Here's the front. Off to relocate so I can get the back. All right. So, I'm gonna insert my screws into the step bracket, use my 13-millimeters again, just get them hand-tightened. All right, so I'm gonna be tightening down the rear bracket. The first one is a bit easier to reach. Here's that one, good and tight. Pull this off, take out my extension. Let's get the second one going. They do recommend that you do on occasion check the tightness of these to make sure they don't get loose so you don't lose your side steps as you're driving down the road. All right. I'm ready to tighten up my 13-millimeter. And we're done. We will have to repeat this on the driver's side in its entirety.Jake: That's gonna wrap it up here for our review and install of the Barricade 3-Inch Side Step Bars in black fitting 2021 and newer 2-Door Broncos. Thank you so much for watching. And as always, for all things Bronco, be sure to keep it right here at extremeterrain.com.
