How to Install Barricade Broken Axle Recovery Kit on your Wrangler

Installation:

Before you install the Bars hub make sure you are working on a Dana 35 C-Clip axle. You will know by the look of the oval differential shape and rubber oil fill cap. Next look at the mounting bracket for the brakes to axle housing. Is should have a flat top with four bolts that bolt the brakes on the axle housing. The Dana 35 C-Clip looks like the pictures below. The Chrysler 8.8

The Chrysler 8.25 looks like a lot like the Dana 35 but they are different axles. The outer axle housing looks the same as the Dana 35. With-that said the Dana 35 Bars Hub might also work on a Chrysler 8.25.

When you remove the axle shaft from the housing (which should be very easy because when a C-clip axle breaks the tire, brake drum and axle come completely off the housing.) you will see the 4 mounting bolts for the Bars Hub. Remove the 4 nuts and clean the surface where the Bars Hub will bolt to.

When bolting the hub in place it is essential to tighten each nut slowly in a cross pattern, being careful not to bind the hub. Slowly torqueing each nut until the hub is on flat and tight set over the axle housing and inside the bearing. Tolerances are going to be tight, so making sure the axle house tube (that holds the oil seal) is cleaned good and a little oil wouldn't hurt so the hub can slide over it with ease.

Next slide the brake drum over the Bars Hub and bolt the tire on in a cross pattern and you are ready to drive to safety  _  in front wheel drive.

Be sure to take pictures and give a review on the website when the hub is used.

Warning. This hub is not DOT approved or meant for freeway speeds.
