This is going to provide you with enough of the decal material for a four-door JK. So you'll have enough, regardless of whether you have a two-door or four-door. Today, we're going to talk through the installation of this decal, which is a very simple one out of three-wrench installation. This won't take you more than a half-hour to complete, and we'll talk more about that in just a second. We're also going to talk through the construction and a few of the features of these decals. From the factory, the door sills on your JK are just painted metal and they can very easily get scuffed up, especially if you're somebody who drives around without your doors on a lot, people can rest their foot in that area. If you have a side step and a taller Jeep, sometimes people will step on the side step, and then on the door sill. Either way, they can get scuffed and scratched, which can lead to something that doesn't look very nice, but also can lead to scratches down to the metal which can cause rust. So protecting that area is pretty important. There are a couple ways to do that. There are plastic sill guards that will use the 3M adhesive to stick on. There are also metal, some even stainless. They come in different colors and different finishes, and this is just going to be one other option for protecting that area. This is going to be a very high-grade, very solid, vinyl material that's going to offer some good protection, be very, very easy to install, and be less expensive than some of those other types of guards. These door sill guards are going to be made of a 23-mil rubberized vinyl material that does have a good bit of a texture to it. So if somebody does put a foot on that area, it's also going to help provide some additional traction. Because this is a nice, thick material, it is going to wear very well. You're not going to get as much life out of this vinyl as you would from a plastic sill guard, or certainly not a metal or a stainless sill guard. However, these are also going to be significantly less expensive. If you're just looking for some lighter protection, maybe you're not looking for the long-term protection, you want to save some money, I think this is going to be a good option. As far as the installation goes, again, we are going to give this a one out of three wrenches. This is something you can do in a half-hour or less. It's a very, very simple process. The first step in the installation is going to be cleaning the surface where this goes. So you have that door sill area, clean it with a good alcohol-based cleaner, and that's going to ensure that this is going to stick and stay put exactly where you want it. Now, if you do any deep scratches in that area and you don't want to just cover them up with this decal, go ahead and touch those up with some touch-up paint to ensure you're not going to get any rust underneath of your decal. After that, it's just really a matter of setting these in place. Now, with some vinyl, you'll do a wet installation. With these, it's recommended to just do it dry. You're going to peel it off the backing, get it lined up exactly where you want it, press it in place, and that's really all there is to it. The instructions that come with these are very, very clear, and very explicit on how you get these installed, where you put them. If you follow them carefully, these are going to look good and offer some great protection. Like I said before, these are going to be less expensive than some of those other door sill guards out there, the metal, the plastic, especially, the stainless or aluminum versions. These are going to come in at right around $20, which I do think is a pretty good deal, especially if you just have some light scratching. You might even be looking to change up the look of your Jeep more than even offer protection and in that case, these are going to be significantly less expensive. If you are looking for something that's going to hold up over a longer period of time, offer even additional protection, and you have a higher budget, then one of the other options is out there. But again, these are going to be for a shorter term, for a lower budget, and for [inaudible]. So if you're looking for an easy to install door sill guard and you don't want a bigger, bulkier, plastic or metal version, or you're just looking for something in the shorter-term and to save you some money. I think this is going to be a really nice option. So that's my review of the Barricade door sill body shield decal, fitting all 2007 and up JKs, that you can find right here at extremeterrain.com.
