Good but some issues
So I bought these based off the other reviews. I have an 05’ Rubicon Unlimited and it was at the point where I could not see very well at night with the stock headlights.
The install was pretty straight forward, remove the 3 t-15 screws for the beauty ring, 4 screws for the retainer and the old lights are out.
Passenger side fit like a glove. Driver side seemed like it was bigger and didn’t want to fit as well. Eventually got it seated. Now for the halo wiring. Not sure who wrote the “manual” but essentially they tell you to tap into the 12v ignition in the fuse box. Not sure if I did it wrong but it immediately lit up the halos, no key or lights on, so obviously that is constant power and won’t work. These guys seriously need better instructions for wiring up the halo ligets.
Now for driving. I drive out on country roads where there are no lights and let me tell you, the high beams on these lights are amazing. You can see forever and they have great side lighting, perfect for night driving on an empty road.
That said, I did not like the low beams. The cutoff was so short that while it lit up the area in front and to the sides wonderfully, it felt like I couldn’t see very far ahead. Now granted this was only tested on a country road I’m not yet sure how this will translate to freeway or in town driving just yet.
So, overall I’d currently give these about a 3.75/5 for great looks and high beams but underwhelming low beam cut off range and a severe lack of wiring instructions for the halos.
If you don’t care about the halos and you just want some new lights you could swap these in under 30 min. If you want to do the turn signals and halos (probably why you bought this model) it will take a bit to figure it all out.
