The Alloy USA Dana 30, Dana 44 4.56 Ring and Pinion set with the master install kits is for those of you that have a 2007 to 2018 non-Rubicon JK that are looking to re-gear because you have larger tires on your Jeep. When you put a bigger tire on your Jeep, the Jeep loses some of that mechanical advantage it had over the tires and can feel sluggish and by re-gearing, you can get back a little bit more of that powerful feeling that the Jeep has with factory size tires on it. This kit here, coming with the master rebuild kit, is going to have every piece you need to re-gear your Jeep. Now speaking of the installation, this is going to be a three out of three wrench installation here. This is not going to be something that you can simply do off the cuff. You can do this in your driveway but you are going to need some specialty tools and you're also going to need some knowhow to get everything set up properly so that you have a gear set that is going to be nice and quiet and also last a good, long time. So if you do not have those specialty tools, if you do not have that knowledge, most of you are going to be taking your Jeep to a shop and having it re-geared. But all that being said, again, three out of three wrenches and we'll talk a little bit more about the installation in just a second. So as far as which tire size goes best with which gear size, that's completely up to you as the individual. Of course, we do have some charts on our website as well as all over the internet. They're readily available to help guide you in the right direction but if you are looking for a little bit more RPM at a lower speed to provide more power off-road, you're gonna want one gear ration. If you're somebody who spends more time on a highway, you want lower RPM at that same speed for better fuel mileage, you're gonna wanna different gear ratio and then anywhere in between there. So this is 4.56. This is fairly aggressive for like 35-inch tire but, again, it's gonna depend on the year of your JK, which engine you have, if you have the manual transmission or the automatic. So there are a lot of factors that go into picking a ring and pinion gear ratio. So that, again, is up to you, depending on how you're going to use your Jeep. But what you are going to get in this kit is, of course, the ring and pinion for the Dana 30 front, Dana 44 rear axle and the master install kit. So master install kits are very, very complete here. They're going to have shims, washers, nuts, bolts, all of your bearings, your seals. It includes gasket maker for your bolts and also to go around your differential cover. It's going to, of course, have your marking compounds so that you can get the proper pattern on your gear set here. You're going to have thread locker, a little brush so that you can put the marking fluid onto the teeth here. So really, everything that you're going to need to get this install done is going to be included here in this setup. All that being said, if you are somebody who's taking your Jeep to a shop to have the gears installed, they may have a specific brand of install kit that they prefer so do keep that in mind. Now overall, again, very complete here. You are getting some very high-quality components. Alloy USA does make some very good stuff so you know that if you set this up properly, again, it's gonna be quiet, it's gonna last a good, long time, and you're gonna get a lot of strength out of this gear set. For everything you're getting here, you're gonna spend right around the $900 mark and that is going to be a lot but, again, it's very, very complete and you are getting high-quality components. So depending on what you're looking to do with the Jeep, what you're looking to get out of your ring and pinion setup, I do think $900 is gonna be a pretty fair option for you.Now as far as the install goes, like I mentioned before, three out of three wrenches. You're going to have to open up the differential. Of course, remove the axle shafts. You'll have to remove the center section, the carrier out of the vehicle, pop in your new ring and pinion, including the different bearings and seals that go along with that. You're going to have to set up the proper pattern on those gears, which is going to involve switching out some shims and preloads to set backlash. So a lot of things that go into setting up a gear set. Again, most of you are going to take your gears to a shop to have them done. But overall, this is going to be a pretty good setup if you're somebody who's looking to tackle this in the driveway. You're gonna get your ring and pinion. You're going to get some pretty complete master rebuild kits. If that's what you're looking for, a one-stop shop that includes everything you need to install a new set of gears in your JK, I would recommend this option from Alloy USA and you can find it right here at extremeterrain.com.
