How to Install AFE Twisted Steel Loop Relocation Pipe (12-18 3.6L Wrangler JK) on your Jeep Wrangler

Caution: aFe recommends professional installation on our products. Allow time for your vehicle to cool down prior to installation. When working on or under your vehicle proceed with caution. Exhaust systems reach high temperatures and may cause serious burns. Wear protective safety equipment; eye goggles and gloves to ensure a safe installation.

Step 1: (Read instructions prior to installation) For faster removal and installation of exhaust a trained professional is recommended for this procedure.

Step 2: Secure the stock exhaust with jack/stands.

Step 3: NOTE: (Disconnect the negative battery terminal).

Step 4: Remove muffler and exhaust mid pipe section.

Step 5: Remove the bracket under the stock y-pipe in front of the lower cross member.

Step 6: Remove the stock y-pipe section.

Step 7: Remove the left side catalytic converter.

Step 8: From the weld area of the catalytic converter where the pipe begins measure 2.0” down and mark a sharpie (This is from the catalytic converter weld to tangent). Refer to photo below.

Step 9: Now cut with a hack saw at your mark as straight as possible and deburr when complete.

Step 10: Re-install the left side catalytic converter.

Step 11: Using the supplied band clamp, slide the aFe loop over the straight section of the catalytic converter. But do not tighten.

Step 12: Re-install the stock y-pipe section using the flange bolts and nuts but do not tighten.

Step 13: Re-install the exhaust mid pipe section and muffler but do not tighten the mid pipe clamp.

Step 14: Ensure that all the parts are in alignment and then tighten the aFe loop band clamp, the flange bolts and nuts securing the stock y-pipe and then mid
pipe clamp.

Step 15: Re-install the bracket under the stock y-pipe from step 5 and tighten.

Step 16: Reconnect the battery.

Step 17: Double check all work and ensure everything is tight.

Step 18: Start the vehicle and check for any leaks.

Step 19: Your installation is now complete. It is recommended to re-tighten all exhaust components after 50 - 100 miles.

Note: aFe recommends that the tailpipe be at least 1/2”-1” away from any body panels to avoid heat related body damage. Tighten and secure.
