How to Install Addictive Desert Designs MaxRax Roof Rack - 48 in. x 55 in. x 5.25 in. (07-17 Wrangler JK) on your Jeep Wrangler

Tools Required
  • 7/32” Allen Wrench or Allen Key Socket
  • 9/16” Socket or Wrench
  • Ratchet

PREPARATION STEPS

1. We recommend reading through the installation instructions in whole before performing the work.

2. You will need the following tools:
a. 7/32” Allen Wrench or Allen Key Socket
b. 9/16” Socket or Wrench
c. Ratchet
Note: This installation requires 2 people for best results

3. Included in Kit:
a. 32 – 3/8-16 x 1” Button Head Bolts
b. 32 – 3/8” Nylon Locking Nuts
c. 32 – 3/8” Stainless Flat Washers
d. 2 – Main Cross Members (One Front, One Back)
e. 2 – Side Pieces
f. 3 – Support Rails

ROOF RACK ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

1. First, line one of the sides up with one of the main cross members to form a right angle. Line the bolt holes up, then start installing the supplied 3/8-16 x 1” Bolts (x5), 3/8” Washers (x5), and 3/8” Nylon Locking Nuts (x5). There are 3 along the sides and 2 on the bottom portion of each corner. Refer to Fig A, Fig B, and Fig C.  

**Leave bolts finger tight until every bolt is installed


2. Take the other side (with the A.D.D. symbol on it) and line it up the same way. Install the supplied 3/8-16 x 1” Bolts (x5), 3/8” Washers (x5), and 3/8” Nylon Locking Nuts (x5) for this corner. Refer to Fig D.  


3. Line the second cross member up so the bolt holes line up with both side pieces and install the supplied 3/8-16 x 1” Bolts (x10), 3/8” Washers (x10), and 3/8” Nylon Locking Nuts (x10) for both corners.  

4. Lay the first rail so that the bolt holes in it line up with the mounting holes drilled in each side bar. Install the supplied 3/8” bolts (x4), 3/8” washers (x4), and 3/8” locking nuts (x4). Refer to Fig E.  

**Remember to still leave the bolts finger tight until every bolt is installed


5. Repeat step 4 with the second and third rails.

6. Go back and tighten every bolt to 30 foot-pounds.

7. Stand back and enjoy your newly assembled MaxRax Roof Rack.
