Description
High-Performance Gear Set. The Yukon Gear Dana M220 Rear Axle Ring and Pinion Gear Kit with a 4.88 gear ratio is engineered to upgrade the rear differential’s gear ratio, enhancing traction and overall drivetrain performance. This adjustment improves the vehicle’s final drive ratio, resulting in better acceleration and control, which is especially advantageous for off-road and performance driving.
Construction and Appearance. Crafted with precision using advanced heat-treating processes, this gear set delivers durability and a superior surface finish. The components are made from rugged, high-quality metal designed for strength and wear resistance, featuring a smooth, clean metal texture to ensure reliable operation.
Installation. Installing this gear set requires moderate mechanical skill and a good understanding of differential components. Specialized tools, such as a dial indicator, may be necessary to achieve proper setup. Although no drilling is required, reprogramming the vehicle’s computer is typically needed to accommodate the gear ratio change and avoid issues such as limp mode.
Application. Designed to fit 2021-2026 Bronco models, excluding the Raptor. Note that factory 3.73 or 4.46 gear ratio Broncos equipped with standard open differentials have a welded gear/differential, necessitating differential replacement for compatibility.
