Meredith: Hey, guys. So today we're here with the RedRock Tubular Drop Steps, fitting all 2020 and newer Gladiator JTs. So if you've lifted your Gladiator, and you're looking for some better accessibility, or you just need a boost up into your truck from time to time, this set of drop steps is a great solution for that. Now, these will have two large steps, one in the front, one in the back for you and your passengers to very easily get in and out of the Gladiator making things a whole lot easier. And these will have a decent amount of drop to them and they're gonna have a large stepping surface, making sure you have a ton of room underneath your foot to get in and out of the Jeep a lot better. And it's gonna come with some sporty cutouts on the top of the step. Not only is that gonna help you out with a sportier look to your Gladiator, but it's gonna give you some better traction, especially in those wetter days. And these will also serve as some really good protection to the side body of your Jeep being made of a heavy-duty steel construction. These will do a good job at protecting the side of your truck from any smaller obstacles if you take your Jeep off-road or, of course, any door dings in the parking lot. Now, because this is a drop step, I would just keep in mind that if you are doing any crawling with your JT, because the steps do hang down a little bit lower, you do have the potential to get hung up on obstacles, especially in this center part.So I would definitely recommend this to somebody who's doing any lighter trails, any fire trails, or daily driving your Gladiator. Nonetheless, these will give you that off-road style with the steel tubular construction up at the top, tucking very close to that rocker area, giving you a very finished look. And you're getting the angular construction down at the bottom, giving you more of a hybrid appeal to the step in comparison to some other choices. And you're also gonna get a textured black powder coat on top with this, making sure that the steel underneath is protected for years to come and also matching any other textured black accessories that you already have on your JT. Now, when it comes to price, this will come in at roughly $425 for the set, which is pretty average when it comes to heavy-duty steps like this. Now, other options available in the category for side steps may not give you the advantage that these do with a drop-down step, as well as some added protection, and may be made of a stainless steel material instead of this heavy-duty steel here or they may not come with that drop step. They may be just a tubular construction with a stepping pad on top. Now, like comparing this to other drop steps, they are all going to vary. Like I said, this is going to have a hybrid construction with the tubing and the angular kind of steel plating down at the bottom here for the step. Some choices may be one or the other, full tubular, or more of a boxy construction. And then some may have straight edges or straight ends in comparison to this option that has the curved ends that will tuck into that side body there. Now, it kind of comes down to your personal preference in the design. However, if you're a fan of the hybrid construction, you're looking for something that's going to give you a ton of accessibility for your Gladiator, and also a heavy-duty and off-road look in the meantime, then this is going to be a great choice. Now, when it comes to install, I'm gonna give this a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter, taking me about two hours to get the job done with some basic hand tools. And one of our installers here is gonna walk you through that process step by step. So that's gonna wrap it up for my review. Let's go ahead and get into the install.Man: Tools used for today's install, jack stand, cordless ratchet, short extension, 10, 13, and 16-millimeter sockets, 17 and 10-millimeter wrenches. What's up, guys? I'll be going over the installation process on your drop step bars on your Jeep Gladiator. Let's get started. All right, guys, so the first step in this installation process, it's gonna be to find your oriented brackets. We have our passenger side brackets laid out as they would be used. You are skipping the rear pinch weld holes. We only are using the front three and it would be labeled differences. This one stands PR for passenger rear and then P for just center and then PF for passenger front. We're gonna go ahead and get our 13-millimeter bolt and start installing these right now. All right, so now, we're at the passenger front of the vehicle. We got the corresponding bracket and it is gonna go in from the backside forward, lining up with the pinch weld bolts, and also the bolt right into the body is the one we're gonna start with. Line that up. It's a 14-millimeter. You want that lock washer and that flat washer. And then go ahead and start this by hand. You can get a few threads in. We're gonna get our 13-millimeter socket and we're just gonna snug this up for right now.Okay. Now, we're going to get our cross bolts. They're going to be the 10-millimeter ones and they're gonna go on just like this. You're gonna have a flat washer on the outside. I'm gonna try to do this so you guys can see it, one on the outside, one on the inside, and then your 10-millimeter locking nut. And I'm just gonna get all these hand tight for now, put that in place, a flat washer on the back and lock nut.All right, now, we can go ahead and tighten these down. We're gonna start with that 14...correction, 13 at the top, and then gonna get a 10-millimeter wrench on the nut on the back or the front, either/or, it doesn't actually matter. And we're gonna go ahead and tighten these down, 10-millimeter socket. And the same thing in the rear. And now, we're gonna just continue repeating this process all the way down the vehicle All right, now, we're at the center of the vehicle and we got our bracket stamped P and same hardware. We're gonna go ahead and tighten this down. And we're gonna move to the rear now. All right now moving down, the same thing. And you're gonna repeat this exact same process on the other side of the vehicle. All right, now, that we have all of our brackets mounted, I have my drop step. We're gonna go ahead and put this on. As you can see, I have a jack stand there to assist me with this. We're just gonna lay that on there. Try and be very careful, obviously, with the paint. And this is gonna go on the behind side of the bracket, just so you know. We got our hardware ready. We got the thickest bolts in the supplied hardware kit. You're gonna have a flat washer on each side. It should be two per bracket. Got our flat washers, and then there should be two locking nuts. All right, you're gonna wanna keep these just hand tight, and we're gonna work our way back. And once we have all of our bolts installed, then we're gonna come back and tighten them down with our tools. You're gonna drop the washer there, put our bolts through. All right, now that we have all of our bolts in tight, we're gonna go ahead and remove the jack stand. And it's okay if it drops down a little bit like that. That's where we're gonna go ahead and tighten those but you're gonna repeat this exact same process on the other side. All right, so now that our drop step is installed, as you can see, the reason to keep it loose is that you can make adjustments and put it where you'd like. So what we're gonna do now is we're gonna get our tools, our 16-millimeter socket and 17-millimeter wrench, go underneath, get it where we want it, and start tightening down all the hardware. All right, now we're underneath with our 16-millimeter socket and 17-millimeter wrench, the nut will be the 17 side and the head of the bolt will be the 16. It's gonna lift up and get it where we want it and tighten her down. Then we're gonna move to the center. All right, now, we're at the front of the vehicle. All right, now that we have that installed, you're gonna repeat this exact same process on the other side.So that's gonna wrap up the review and install of the RedRock Tubular Drop Steps, fitting your 2022 current Gladiator JTs. Thanks for watching. And for all things Gladiator, keep it right here at extremeterrain.com.
