Justin: The RedRock 4X4 Bullet Style Antenna that we have here today is gonna be a great option for the 2020 and newer JT owners looking to ditch that goofy factory antenna and go with something that's gonna deliver a much shorter, much cooler look, thanks to the quality CNC billet aluminum that does mimic the shape of a 50 caliber round. Now, this 5-star rated product is gonna run you right around $20 to 30 bucks while the install is easy enough for a toddler to achieve. And we are gonna have more on that later in the video. So, short and sweet here, guys, the factory antenna is good for picking up just about every radio station in your state, but that's pretty much it, right? It looks goofy, way too tall for the Gladiator, and can easily get damaged if it gets caught on a tree, maybe on a tight trail or through the occasional automatic car wash. Now, the RedRock option here on the other hand, at least according to our customer reviews, is still good enough to maintain solid radio reception on most of your terrestrial radio stations, but more importantly, is gonna make a massive improvement in regards to your appearance. Now, full disclosure, guys, I have something similar on my truck and for the small amount of time I do spend listening to terrestrial radio, I haven't really noticed a huge drop in performance whatsoever. Now, keep in mind, I do live near a big city, so, therefore, signal strength is pretty strong overall. However, if you do live out in the country or in the sticks, well, you might notice some decreased performance in reception. Now, ultimately though, again, I'm gonna remind you, guys, read up on some of the customer reviews here to basically get a sense of how fellow Gladiator owners are enjoying this thing and how they are experiencing their radio reception on their truck.Well, let's shift gears and talk construction, and you are looking at a high-quality CNC billet aluminum piece that has been finished off in kind of a satin black powder coat, let's call it, and more importantly, as you can see, shaped like a 50 caliber round, which certainly kicks things up a bit over your standard shorty antenna, which by the way, if you're not digging this, we do have those basic antennas on the site as well. Now the RedRock option here is gonna measure in I'd say around 5 inches in length altogether, and does include a number of different thread attachments, which does allow this to be used on a wide range of Jeeps not only your JT. Now, installation really couldn't be any easier here, guys. Again, you might need a wrench to loosen up that stocker, but after that, you're simply gonna find the correct thread adapter, screw it into place, and you're good to go. But now we actually have an XT customer to give you a little bit more detail on the install so check it out.Man: The only tool you're gonna need is an open-end 3/8 wrench, and I recommend you use a little Loctite to just put on the threads just to hold it in tight. So we're just gonna take our 3/8 wrench and loosen the stock antenna up. Be careful not to scratch any paint or anything like that. It comes off pretty easy. And when you get it off enough, you can just take it off by hand so you don't have to worry about messing anything up. And it's off. It goes on really simple. You don't need to wrench this on. And just to make sure it stays, the first step we're gonna do is we're just gonna take a little Loctite and put it on the threads, and then you just screw it in by hand. Okay. There's a recess here, so you can't get a wrench on it, but you just screw it in as far as you can get by hand tight. Take the antenna, put a little more Loctite on again. And when you screw the antenna down, it tightens up all the way into this antenna base. It'll tighten up all the way, nice and snug. And that's it.Justin: So if the standard shorty antennas don't have enough America for you, well then, consider the Bullet Style Antenna from RedRock 4x4 right here at extremeterrain.com.
