Merideth: Hey, guys. So, today, we're checking out the N-FAB Wheel 2 Wheel Podium Nerf Side Step Bars in textured black, fitting all 2020 and newer Gladiator JTs. So if you're in search of some better accessibility and an off-road look for your Gladiator, this option by N-FAB will be a great choice to take a look at. Now, this pair of side steps will come up with a drop step for the front and the back helping you and your passengers get in and out of your Jeep a little bit easier, especially if you have a lift on your Gladiator. Now, I do like that this will offer a decent drop in comparison to some other choices, which will make accessibility just that much easier, and it will have a large stepping surface that will give you a bunch of space and race cutouts, creating a nonslip surface for some better traction as well as some drainage so no water is going to puddle up on the step. Now, not only are these good for better cab access, but also some really good protection considering that they're made of a 3-inch wide tubular steel construction, being very durable and able to take a hit when it comes to any obstacles if you're taking your Gladiator off-road or any door dings in the parking lot if you're not. Now, I would keep in mind, though, that the step does hang lower than the rocker panel. So if you are doing some rock crawling or articulation off-road, I would just take clearance into consideration. So I would recommend these to somebody who's doing a little bit of lighter off-roading and daily driving in comparison to someone who's doing some really tough wheeling. Now, nonetheless, these will be able to take a hit if you do come in contact with an obstacle off-road, and they'll come in a really nice texture black powder coat finish that will match incredibly well with any other texture black accessories that you already have on the JT.Now, these will also have curved ends and tuck very tight to that rocker panel there, which is going to add a really nice finish look to the side body of the Jeep. Now, when it comes to price, these are going to come in at roughly $525 for the set, which is more on the premium side when it comes to a drop step like this. When comparing this to some other choices available on the page, I do like the fact that these are heavy-duty and able to withstand any abuse on the trail. And, they also tuck really nice to that rocker area, giving you that additional protection that you may want. Now, some other choices for side steps on the page may only be for later protection and mainly be focused on better entry to the Jeep, so this is going to be the best of both worlds. Now, I also like the fact that the construction is a little bit bigger when it comes to the tubing, which will offer more coverage to the rocker area. Now, with that being said, some other choices on the page may be styled a little bit differently with straight ends, a smaller tubing, or even a boxier or angled construction compared to this option. Now, overall, I think if you're in search of a tubular drop step that's going to give you not only better accessibility, but some solid protection at the same time and some really good off-road style, then these are going to be a great choice. Now, when it comes to install, this will come in at a one-out-of-three wrenches on the difficulty meter, taking you about two hours to get the job done with some pretty basic hand tools. Now, the tools that you'll need for this install will include a 10, 12, and 13-millimeter socket with a ratchet and a 13-millimeter wrench. Now, one of our customers here is going to show you that process step by step, so that is going to wrap it up for my review. Let's go ahead and get into the install.Male: Okay, the full uninstallation of the original rock sliders and the installation of the new Nerf Bars were completed with just these tools: a ratchet, a 13-millimeter box wrench, a 13, 12, and 10-millimeter socket. So the 10-millimeter socket is only used for removing the nuts that go through the pinch weld of the original rock slider. The 13-millimeter socket is used for both the nuts that go through the pinch weld on the new Nerf Bar and the upright bolts on the original rock slider. And, the 12-millimeter socket is only used for the upright bolts on the new Nerf Bar, upright meaning they're going up and down instead of through that pinch weld. The box wrench is used on the new Nerf Bar going through the pinch weld because, unlike the original rock sliders, they actually have a bolt that goes through with a nut on the other side. So you have to hold on one side with the box wrench while you're ratcheting with the 13-millimeter socket.Hey, we're gonna remove these stock profile rock sliders, and those are held on by eight 10-millimeter nuts and then four 13-millimeter nuts. So we're going to take off the 10-mils first. So there's the 13-mil. The 10-mil has got the wrench on it. The other 10-mil on the other side. So, basically, there's four of these big brackets with a 13-mil on either side. There's a 10-mil, so we're gonna pop that one off.Okay, so the whole unit should come loose in three more nuts here. And I'll get the two 10-mils first, and it's all gonna be hanging on this 13-mil. So I'm gonna hold it from this side. I get Charlie's...Charlie: Yeah. And then we're gonna have to pull it straight out.Male: Yeah. So you do have to pull it straight away from the Jeep because these 10-mils as you can see are coming in sideways as the 13-mils that are holding it up and down. Yeah. So I'm gonna grab it on this side. Charlie's gonna support it from that side, and we should be able to lower her nice and easy. Here, the final 13-mil coming off right now.Okay, the final 13-mils is off, and there she comes. [inaudible 00:07:16:012] comes here. [inaudible 00:07:19:013] So here's the front bracket. It's really tough to get a good angle here, but this is where we're putting our 30-millimeter. So you can see it's like we're just loose fit right now, and then here's the flange, not flange rather, but the bracket that goes up against the pinch weld. So, excuse the shaky camera work here. I'm just gonna hand tighten in the 30-mil to the front here. Okay, that was easy.Charlie: Let me just slide that to the exact part.Male: Definitely, it helps. Okay, so that's loose. Everybody you can tell that it's, you know, down a little bit, so we're going to adjust this accordingly. You can see that this bracket here is pretty loose. So, actually, as soon as I tighten this [inaudible 00:08:59:025], that's gonna straighten it out. Can you hand me the socket? So we're at the point where we need to level the Nerf step out before we cinch down all the fasteners. So we're trying to figure out how we do that. Okay, probably not absolutely necessary, but we're just like using a jack and a shim here to, sort of,...Charlie: I think that's it.Male: Yeah, we're lifting the whole car right now, so we probably let up on that a little bit. Because with it loose fitted, we don't wanna, like, bend the flange. I mean, I should get a better look underneath how it's [inaudible 00:09:55:026]Charlie: That's about right.Male: That's bending it up now, I think.Charlie: Perfect.Male: We're gonna cinch down the flange brackets, not the flange rather but the pinch weld bracket first, which means we're going to use a box wrench. So I'll get the wrench. There we go. And it is tight. Okay. Now we got the pinch weld. We got to tighten these guys up. Yeah, that grips a lot better. Okay.Merideth: So that's gonna wrap it up for my review and the install of the N-FAB Wheel 2 Wheel Podium Nerf Side Step Bars in textured black fitting all 2020 and newer Gladiator JTs.
