Merideth: If you want some additional protection for the front end of your 2007 and 2021 Tundra, this Barricade 3.5-Inch Oval Bull Bar with the Skid Plate in Black will be a great addition to your truck. Now, this will offer good front-end protection to your bumper for any head-on obstacles that you may come in contact with, preserving the life of your front bumper. This will also add some off-road or heavy-duty appeal to the front end with the more aggressive styling, all while allowing you to mount up lighting for better visibility out of the front end if you choose to.This will be made of a heavy-duty stainless steel construction with a 3.5-inch tube design. Now on top of that, you'll also see a nice gloss black powder coat finish that will offer the protection that you need for the stainless steel underneath against any rusting, but also assist in the heavy-duty appearance. Now I like that this option will also come with a skid plate, offering some underbody protection in addition to the head-on protection. Now, in the middle, you're also going to see two mounting points here for accessory lighting. It does come with the brackets separate and plugs right out of the box, so you can choose to build off of this if you'd like if you want to knot up a light bar or even pod lights. Now this will also come with just everything that you need to make this a non-drill or non-modification install, making it very straightforward to put this on your truck. With all that being said, this will come in at roughly $300 when it comes to the price. Now, I like that this, compared to some other choices, keeps it simple, and allows you the choice when it comes to accessory lighting, especially with the brackets being separate. Now, other options in the category may come with lighting integrated into the bull bar or in a different finish, like a polished finish for a more classic approach. Now, I think if you're looking for a simple and sleek bull bar to protect the front end of your truck, then this is gonna be a great choice. Now, install again will be a straightforward one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter, taking you roughly an hour to get the job done with some basic hand tools. Now, at this point, we can head over to the shop and check out a detailed breakdown of what that install looks like. So, that's gonna wrap it up for me. Let's jump into it.Man: Tools used for this install, a 3/8 electric impact gun, 19-millimeter wrench, 13-millimeter, and 18-millimeter sockets. Hey, guys. I'm gonna show you how to install our bull bar here on our '18 Tundra, so let's get started. So, the first thing we're gonna do is we're gonna take our 18-millimeter socket here with my 3/8 impact gun, and we're gonna remove these two bolts right here that hold our tow hooks on. And we're gonna do it on this side, and we're gonna do it on that side. So, now what we're gonna do, we're just gonna have to do a little work on our bench here. We have our bull bar up in place here. They're gonna give you these brackets here. We're gonna have to install these. They're gonna sit just like that, and this one's gonna sit just like that. And they give us 13-millimeter bolts with a lock washer and a flat washer. I'm gonna install these, snug these up. They are adjustable and slidable so that when we get it on the vehicle if they're too far out, we can pull them in.So, now I'm gonna take my 13-millimeter with that lock washer and flat washer, get these started, I'm gonna run them in by hand, and then the bottom one. What I'm gonna do is put the bracket right in the center like that. I'm gonna take my 13-millimeter on my 3/8 gun, just snug them up a little bit. Same with this one. And I'm gonna leave it just a tiny bit loose there just so I can move it around. Same on this one. We're gonna start our 13-millimeter bolts with our lock washer and flat washer, and the same on the bottom one here. I'm gonna put the bracket right in the middle, get it like that, and we'll just snug it up with our gun.So, now what we're gonna do is install our brackets onto our tow hook tabs here where we took our tow hooks off, and if you're gonna notice that these brackets are marked driver's side and passenger side, we're gonna use our factory bolts that we took off. So, we're gonna take this, get this in place, and start our bolts. So, now we'll just get our bolts started. I'm gonna run them in by hand, and I'm gonna center them just like I centered the other one. And I'm gonna leave it loose for now so that when we get the bull bar on, we can adjust this in and out to make it so it fits against the other plates.Same on this side. We'll take our factory bolts that we took out, get these started on the front one. I'm gonna run them up by hand. That way they're snugged, but they still can be moved, and that way we'll leave them like that, and we'll tighten them up after we get the front bar on.So, now what I'm gonna do is install our bull bar. I'm gonna lift it up, get it in place, and get a bolt through one side. So, I'm gonna just get a nut on this side like that, and then we'll do the same on the other side. Now that I have one side holding it up, I'm able to put the other side in place and let the bull bar hang like that, flat washer, and lock washer. So, now that we have two holding it up, I'm just gonna take it, push it up into place, and then start these two here. And like I said, I got the second one in. I'm gonna put my flat washer and locking nut on the second one. Now we'll do the same on the passenger side. I'm just gonna lift up again and get that bolt started like that, my flat washer, my locking nut, and get them started. So, now what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna take a 19-millimeter wrench and an 18-millimeter on my 3/8 gun, and I'm gonna tighten the front ones up here. That way I'm gonna make them to the point where I can push this up just with two of them, and I'll be able to get this where I want it, and then be able to tighten the back ones and get it set where it's going to be.So, I'm just gonna hold this with the wrench. I'm gonna do the same on the opposite side. I'm gonna take my 19-millimeter, again, with my 3/8 gun with my 18-millimeter and tighten this one up. And I backed it off just a little bit so it's easy to push up. So, now that we have them two outer ones tight, what I'm gonna do is just push up on the bar, and then it's gonna be your opinion or your preference where you want the bull bar to sit.I'm gonna get it up as tight as I can to the bumper like that, and once you get it in that spot, what I'm going to do is tighten the rest of the bolts up. So, now I'm gonna take my 18-millimeter again and my 19-millimeter, I'm gonna tighten these up here and this one, and we'll actually get underneath here, tighten up our two factory ones. And again, we'll tighten up this side with my 19-millimeter, my 18-millimeter on my 3/8 gun, and our two factory bolts. That wraps up this review and install of our Barricade 3.5-Inch Oval Bull Bar with Skid Plate, Black, for '07 to '21 Tundras.
