Merideth: If you're looking for a set of reliable doors that will allow you to enjoy the open-air driving experience that your Gladiator has, this set of Barricade Extreme HD Rear Adventure Doors will be a great addition to your 2020 or newer JT Gladiator. Now these will be great for the JT owner who wants to complete the set of Adventure Doors on their build to up the heavy-duty off-road styling, but also to reap some of the other benefits when it comes to tube doors. Now these will be fantastic for any adventure on or off-road to give you and your passengers some peace of mind and a little bit of security when you're driving with the full doors off, and also allowing you some good protection and a good field of view while you're driving off-road.Now, these will feature a factory-like fit when it comes to putting them on in the factory hinges and fitting into that striker on the door, making this seamless to operate. These will also use little bump stops for each of the doors to prevent any annoying rattling, again, keeping your passengers in the back and you in the front comfortable in the cab area when you're driving around. Now the door handles themselves will also be incredibly easy to use with a larger handle there. So again, that's going to provide a lot of ease when it comes to getting in and out, and you'll even have provided spacers in the kit to make sure that you have the perfect fit when it comes to your rear tube doors.Another good feature about these doors is the fact that they have a heavy-duty nylon strap to prevent them from swinging out too far and damaging your Jeep. These will be durable with a 1.25-inch diameter steel construction, being able to withstand whatever obstacle or hit that they may potentially come in contact with. These are also going to have steel reinforced plates and steel latch mounting tabs to make sure that everything is going to be heavy-duty and is going to hold up for a long period of time. Now the doors themselves will be covered in a textured black powder coat finish, which will protect the steel from any rusting or corrosion, but it's also going to achieve a heavy-duty appearance, especially paired with the design of the doors that crosses down the middle and has the steel plating with the cutout accents. That's going to add that extra flair to the Jeep if you're looking specifically for a stylish tube door. These will come in at about $400 for the rear and, in my opinion, is a great price for what you're getting. Now, with this, you're getting a durable construction down to the hardware, so you can trust that this is going to hold up no matter how much you use them or put them on and take them off. These are also gonna have some more dynamic styling to these compared to other more simplistic tube doors if you really want your JT to stand out, making these well worth that price point if you're looking to complete the set.Install is gonna be relatively easy for this one, so I'm gonna give it a 1 out of 3 wrenches on the difficulty meter. There's not a ton of assembly that has to go into place, but you will have to put the latches on. So I would say that that is going to take about an hour or so to get the job done with some pretty basic hand tools. Now, speaking of the install, one of our customers here at ExtremeTerrain has installed this on their Gladiator and is gonna walk you through what that process looks like step by step. So that wraps it up for me. Let's go ahead and get into it.Man: So here are the tools that are suggested and the ones that I actually used. So I didn't actually use the mallet. The mallet was said to be used to secure the doors in spot, but the doors secured finally for me. So I use this and this to take the doors off. I also used the flathead screwdriver to remove the housing for the door to get the electrical compartment off.And then with attaching the doors, I used the large Allen wrench and the small Allen wrench that are included in the kit. I used an extender for my ratchet because I found it easier to secure the doors to tighten the bolts and then a number 13 metric socket. And then I also used momentarily a 13-millimeter open-ended wrench, but I ended up using the extender because I found it easier. And then you also need this to be able to remove the inside screws for the door. And then removing the bolts from the back door, loosening them up, and then removing them. Being careful once again not to... Just protect your paint. And then don't lose your bolts. So to remove the back door, you pull that shield off. There is a tab on a gray plastic wire harness here that you press in and then pull down. And then to remove this, lift up on that. And then remove the bolt, just like in the front door. And I store the bolts in the slot under the back seat where it's recommended to store and that way you don't lose them. Now to remove the door, once again, you have the window down, and you lift up and the door is off. You set it someplace safe. Let's seat the door in the hinges. Nice. And then we secure it with a washer and a nut. Loosely put them on and then we'll tighten them. The top one, I'm almost going to recommend using an open-ended wrench possibly. This just seems to rub against the coating of the door. And the last thing you want to do is scratch up the door. I just got an extension to give myself a little bit more space, and that works much better. There we go. Sounds good. Now we are going to secure the strap. We open it up a little bit by pressing on the end and then closing the door a little bit, [inaudible 00:06:54.423] the way, and it slides right over. And then you can secure this back in its spot.Next thing you're gonna do is install the rubber stopper with the screw, the lock washer, and it's a little lower on the door here. Just screws in there nicely. All right, nice and tight. And the next thing is to attach the latch with the bolts and washers. And we'll just hand-tighten these down for right now so we can check it, check the latch, and then add spacers as necessary. All right. There we go.All right, now that we have the latch attached, we can test it. I can see right away it's going to need at least a spacer. So I remove. It's easier with Allen wrench. Remove the bolts. Now I'm going to add two spacers on. Let's not overdo it. Slide the bolt through the spacers. You can somewhat align it and see what it looks like.I think it still needs a third spacer. It comes with a spacer, so take your time and do this right, because this will make a difference in how well it latches. And the last thing you want your door to do is fly open while you're driving on the road and you have passengers freaking out. Yep, that looks good. That looks much better. Like I said, push forward on the latch as you're securing it. That seems to get a better alignment. There we go.One thing I noticed, there's a little rattle here. And so what I'll probably do is there's washers that I think are spacers as well too, so I'm gonna put a couple of those through the rubber stop. So I'm gonna remove the rubber stop and add some washers behind it. Just put the washers right there like that and then secure the rubber stop again. So now very little wiggle, none at all.Merideth: So that's gonna wrap it up for my review and the install of these Barricade Extreme HD Rear Adventure Doors, fitting all 2020 and newer JT Gladiators. And remember, for all things Gladiator, remember to keep it right here at extremeterrain.com.
