Hey, guys. So, today we're checking out the Milestar Patagonia AT/R All-Terrain Tire, fitting all-year Wranglers. Now, if you're looking for a solid altering tire that's gonna give you a good balance between the street and the trail, this Milestar Patagonia is going to be one that you'll want to take a look at. Now, the Patagonian tire will be one of the most affordable options in the category right now and will be available in sizes from 31 to 37 inches fitting all 15, 16, 17, 18, and 20-inch wheels. Now, there are a couple of choices when it comes to upgrading your tires between all-season, all-terrain, and mud-terrain tires. Now, if you're in search of a tire that's going to provide some all-season street driving and comfort but wants an off-road performance in the meantime, then all-terrain is going to suit you best, and the Patagonias will do just that. Now, a hybrid all-terrain tire like this one will give you a good balance of characteristics between average street tires and a mud-terrain style tire. Now, these will have the benefits of including pretty quiet street driving even with a little bit more of an aggressive tread pattern than some other street tires, more even wear over time. And these are going to still be able to handle some loose terrain and give you some traction in off-road situations. In summary, I would say that this tire specifically will definitely be for those Jeep owners who are not looking for a very aggressive all-terrain as far as the tread is concerned, and it's going to do a lot of street driving or a decent amount of street driving, but also want the benefit of an all-terrain whenever they take their Jeep off-road.Now, when it comes to the overall construction, the tire itself will be made of a cut and chip compound. It's silicon fused and will be able to hold up and maintain a long lifespan when installed on the Jeep. Now, a lot of that performance, however, that you're going to get out of the tire comes down to how the tread and the actual face of the tire is designed. Now, as you can see here, this is going to have large tread blocks and they're all going to be offset which is going to benefit you when it comes to extra traction off-road and even on the street. That not only has to do with just tread size itself but the spacing as well. Now, the outer tread blocks as you can see are spaced a little bit closer together and they are going to be consistently sized. Now, on the inside, the tread blocks are going to be a little bit more offset. And those are going to have larger spaces in between as well as deeper spaces. Now, that is going to be great when getting through any loose terrain like dirt or sand or even mud. These are also going to be angled, which will give you some extra bite in conjunction with the stepped-down edges on every other outer block on the side here. Now, those will add just that much more traction and stability while helping out with the tread rigidity and protection from any stone drilling on the tire itself. Not to mention, the tread blocks will also have consistent siping, which are these small little slits that you'll see in each of the tread blocks. Now, those are responsible for keeping the tread block very flexible and pushing out water from underneath the tire which is very important in an all-season style performance and better stability for better traction on the street. Now, like I mentioned, this is going to be one of your more affordable options when it comes to an all-terrain tire on the page, starting at roughly $175. Now, the price will fluctuate depending on the diameter and the wheel size that you choose. However, in comparison to some of its competitors, you will be saving when it comes to the Patagonia. Now, what I like about this tire in comparison to a lot of other choices is that this will give you performance as well as a look without being too aggressive for someone who doesn't want a very knobby tire. Other options that may be a little bit more expensive will usually include a knobby or lug pattern, or even have a more aggressive sidewall specifically for air down applications. Not to mention, even though this is going to be incredibly affordable for an all-terrain, this will include a 50K mile treadwear warranty for some peace of mind in comparison to some of the other options that will not come with one at all. Overall, I think if you're looking for an affordable option that's going to provide a lot of perks in the construction, including the impressive 50K mile treadwear warranty, then this is a tire you'll definitely want to take into consideration. So, that is going to wrap it up for my review on the Milestar Patagonia AT/R All-Terrain Tire, fitting all-year Wranglers and you can find this right here at extremeterrain.com.

What is the best gear ratio to run for larger tires? When you increase the diameter of your tires, your vehicle's engine has to work harder to turn them. Naturally, this will lead to increased fuel consumption and reduced performance. So, when upgrading to a set of larger tires you should re-gear your rig to regain this lost acceleration, performance and fuel economy.
Find your original tire size and gear ratio using the chart listed below, the intersection should be your approximate RPMs at 65 MPH. Then find your new tire size and follow it across to the closest RPM to your original tires, this will be your gear ratio choice.
This chart is based on driving at 65 MPH with a 1:1 gear ratio and a manual transmission in 4th gear. Please note if your vehicle is equipped with an automatic transmission your RPMs will be higher due to normal transmission and the torque converter slippage. In overdrive your RPMs will be approximately 15% to 30% less than indicated.
