      • Use a fuse shackle to feed the open fuse shackle through the loop on the rope dampener, and then through the rope loop of a kinetic, static, or winch rope next to the attached fuse shackle in the recovery system.

      • Tighten the fuse shackle loop over the knot, positioning the knot to pull at ninety degrees next to the knot.

      • Drape the rope dampener over the attached rope or allow it to hang down.
