Merideth: If you're tired of The Styling and the performance of your factory tail lights on the back of your 2020 or newer JT Gladiator, these Renegade Series Sequential LED Tail Lights, with the black housing and a red lens, will be a great solution to switch up the look. Now, I would like to mention right up front, that your Jeep will need to be equipped with the factory halogen tail lights in order to install these. Nonetheless, these will offer a huge upgrade when it comes to lighting and styling, with a full LED build, and a classic red lens, with an elevated configuration. Now, this will make it a great choice for the JT owner looking for a factory-ish style look of the red lens, but want to take the lighting up another level and create a more modernized appearance. So if we take a closer look at the build here, on the outside border, we're going to have a C-shaped light bar as the running light. You're going to have two smaller individual strips of LEDs that's going to be your brake lights. And in the center, you're going to have your reverse light. Now, what I really like about this setup is that the brake lights are also going to sequence as the turn signal, offering a very modernized look. And the LED reverse light will offer a lot of rear end visibility compared to the stock one. Now, I also like the placement of the two LED corner lights and the factory style black housing, for a nice contrast and to match with any other OE trim. These will be built tough with the lens on the front being made of a polycarbonate material, to withstand any lighter hits from any brush or branches, or kick up on the street. Now, the housing is made of an ABS plastic material, being durable, yet having an OE look and feel, like I mentioned before, boasting a factory-like fit. Not to mention, these will be DOT and SAE compliant, and completely plug and play, making the install super straightforward. Now, with all that being said, these will come in at roughly $400, which is pretty average for a set of full LED tail lights. Now, what I really like about this choice compared to others, however, is the fact that this keeps that red lens, but takes the styling up a notch, and gives you some extra functionality with the turn signal. Now, other choices on the page may not come with all the bells and whistles you see here, like the light bar or the sequential feature, or they may just be like a factory style replacement. Now, choosing lighting does come down to your personal preference when it comes to the style. However, I think if you're in search of a dynamic look for the rear end of your JT and more of a classic feel with a red lens, then this is going to be a great choice. Now, install will be fully plug and play, so I'm going to give it a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter, taking you about an hour to get the job done with some basic hand tools. But I wouldn't be surprised if you got it done a little bit quicker. Now, that's going to wrap it up for my review. Let's go ahead and head over to the shop and check out a detailed breakdown of the install right now.Man: Tools required for this install include, a ratchet, and an eight-millimeter socket. What's up, guys. Today we're going to be installing a set of tail lights on our Gladiator, so let's get started. So to remove our stock tail lights, we need to fold down our tailgate. We have two eight-millimeter bolts on the inside that hold it in. And then we can just pop it out and disconnect our wiring harness. So now we can take our eight-millimeter socket to remove our two bolts. So now with our two bolts removed, we can pull straight back on our tail light. And then on our wiring harness, we're going to pull the red tab backwards and then press in the black tab to remove it. And then we can repeat that same process on the other side. Now on our new tail lights, we have two connectors. The smaller one is going to be for parking sensors. So ours doesn't have that, so we can just ignore that. And then we can plug our harness into place, and slide our tail light straight back to push those pins into place. And now coming back inside the tailgate, we can reinstall our two eight-millimeter bolts, and use our eight-millimeter socket to tighten these down. And then once we're done with this side, we can repeat the same process on the other side. So that'll wrap up this review and install of the Renegade Series Sequential LED Tail Lights, with black housing and red lens for your 2020 and newer Jeep Gladiator JT, with factory halogen tail lights. Thank you for watching. And for all things Gladiator, keep it right here at extremeterrain.com.
