Review & Install Video

This Rugged Ridge All Terrain Cargo Liner is for those of you that have a 2011 and up JK, and are looking to protect that rear cargo area of your Jeep when you're throwing some muddy, messy, dirty stuff in the back of your JK. You certainly don't wanna mess up that carpeting in the back of the Jeep, and this is going to be a lot easier to clean than the carpet will. This is going to fit in both your four-door and in your two-door JK, and whether or not you have a sub in that rear cargo area, you are going to be able to use this. But if you do have that sub, you'll have to do a little bit of trimming in this corner here, which we've cut out. This is going to be a high-quality cargo liner, but it is going to be a little bit less expensive than some of those more premium brands out there on the market. So if you're looking for something that's middle of the road as far as pricing, but is still going to get the job done, then I think this is going to be a really nice option. This cargo liner is made out of a thermoplastic material, so it's gonna hold up really well and it's also going to give you a nonskid surface. Helping with that nonskid surface, you have this Chevron design molded directly into the cargo liner. A lot of the other companies will use a diamond-plate pattern. I like these Chevrons, they are a little bit different. And of course, with all of these mats, you are going to get a side molded on them so that if you have any wet messes in the cargo liner, the sides are going to help retain that. Now down in this area where you do have the opportunity to cut out if you have a subwoofer in the rear cargo area of your JK, you are not going to have as tall of a side over there. And over in this area, also, you have a little bit of a lower side. So, you may get a little bit of spillage over this side if you have a lot of moisture on the cargo mat. And again, that's where some of those premium mats come into play. They are gonna be a little bit more expensive, but they are gonna have some taller sides. So depending on what you plan on hauling in your Jeep, one of those might be a better option if you have the budget for it. This is, of course, a very simple, one-out-of-three-wrench installation. I hesitate to call it an installation at all. You'll be able to get this installed in about five minutes or less. And only five minutes if you do have that subwoofer in the back of your Jeep and you have to do that little bit of trimming. This does come pre-marked right out of the package exactly where you have to make those cuts if you have that subwoofer. And you can do it with a sharp razor knife or using just a pair of scissors. Once you've made that cut, if you need to, you simply drop this into place and you're finished. This is very, very simple. This mat's gonna run you right around $75, and that is going to be a little bit less than some of those premium brands out there. For instance, the WeatherTech liners are going to be a little bit more expensive, and you are going to get a little bit of a higher side on those WeatherTech. But again, depending on what you plan on hauling, this is still going to do a really nice job of protecting the back area of your Jeep. Also, make it look a little bit more finished and give you a nonskid surface to set items on. So if you're looking for a quality cargo liner at a fair price, I definitely recommend taking a look at this one from Rugged Ridge that you can find right here at extremeterrain.com.

Ask a Question

does the liner fit with the rear seat still in the vehicle, or just without it?

BillL

  • The Rugged Ridge All Terrain Cargo Liner extends to cover the rear cargo area where the rear seat would be but you have the option to remove the seats and have that whole area covered or have the seats installed and still be able to utilize the cargo liner. The cargo liner has cut outs you could utilize to accommodate the rear seat.

The two previous questions asked about the JK with a subwoofer contradict each other. As of 5/24/17- Is this liner compatible with a JK with the subwoofer in the floor?

Lulu

  • The Rugged Ridge All Terrain Cargo Liner can be used with JK's with a subwoofer but trimming in designated areas is required to accommodate the factory subwoofer.

This Rugged Ridge cargo liner shows the cut out for the sub woofer to right rear cargo area. The newer two door wranglers have the sub woofer in the center of the floor in the rear cargo area. I have called on this before its my understanding that this does not accommodate that sub woofer. You are saying it does. Could someone please verify that it does or doesn't. Mine is a 2016 JK 2 door. Thanks

Dan

  • Hello, if you have the Sub-woofer in the center on the floor, this Cargo mat will no working for you.

How does this product work with the in floor sub woofer on the 2016 JK?

Zosorocket

  • Hello, the Rugged Ridge All Terrain Cargo Liner - Black (11-17 Wrangler JK) comes with a section that is traced, so you can cut on that location to be able to accommodate the In Floor Sub Woofer.

    Does the job

I bought this to make cleaning the cargo area of my Wrangler easier. My dog often rides back there wet and sandy. The necessary holes to accommodate the back seat make for places for the sand to gather but overall it does the job. There would be no way to anchor the cover if the seat isn't re-installed.

What You Really Need for a JKS

Remove the bench seat. Throw the liner in and make a few slits for the lock downs and toss the seat back in and go. 15 Minutes !

A nice liner but the fit is terrible

Overall I like the look and I feel that the liner would protect my jk. But I simply cannot get my rear seats to latch once the liner is installed. The only thing that worked was removing the carpet from the rear section. But in my opinion this defeats the purpose of having a cargo liner when the main reason for the purchase was to protect the carpet.

    Not Good

Very cheap plastic mat, this will not hold up over time. It doesn't fit the back very well, it slides around and doesn't stay put. Very much wish I could go back in time and stop myself from ordering this one. Was looking for a mat that worked in a 2-door with the back bench in or out, very disappointed with the quality on this after buying other Rugged Ridge products I love. Expected a lot more with the price point.

    2016 JK Review

This review is about the fit in a 2016 Jeep JK. The item is a little pricey for quality. The rubber isn't of the highest quality. It also moves around with the rear seat out. I'm not sure what knobs are supposed to hold it in place. I didn't completely cutout the notches. The front latch has two connection points. I left a strip in the middle which seems to help with the shifting some. Also, the cutouts are not in the correct spot for the sides to fit well. If you line the edges up first, the notches are a good inch off. I would have expected a better fit for the price. There aren't a lot of companies making cargo mats that work with the rear seats up or down, but a better attempt could have been made for this.

    Awesome as expected

This was a super easy install, just needed to cut out the rear seat connect wholes. The cut out was easily marked so no measuring was required and it was easy to cut the material w/ a box cutter. It was an exact match to my cargo area so all is covered.

How good can floor mats get?

I bought this for a 2-door JK Jeep (2014) and it fits well but those holes you see in the pictures for the rear seat mounts don't come pre-cut. You'll have to do that yourself. The mats have the location of where the cuts should be made imprinted right on there so it just takes about 20 min and a sharp knife. Hardest part was getting the back seat out by my self. Rubber is real thick, which it nice, but it still allows you to be able to get into that little cubby-hole in the back easily, but I have to pay extra attention when I'm putting the back seat up - I kinda have to slam it down in place to make sure the rear clamps of the back seat lock into the bracket. Small potatoes though.
